I've been living in this building for over 5 months, and my experience has been frustrating. After moving in, my car was booted without any warning, (l was standing for couple of hours in moving place as everybody) The management took a month to fix issues in my apartment, and the trash in the corridors is often left uncollected, creating an awful smell. They charge $75 for parking, but I can't even use it because my registration address doesn't match(it supposed to be 1 N Main st, where u live in, which doesn’t make any sense). The rooftop access, which is supposed to be available until 9 PM, is often inaccessible due to the elevators being turned off. Overall, for the price we're paying, the service is unacceptable. I would not recommend moving here!

Garbage management. apartment 206 has problems with ANTS and they never did anything about it or told the tenant. When you have issues they try and avoid you at all cost for example apartment 202 bedroom on the right has no insulation what's so ever is like sleeping outside and i feel bad because the tenants had kids and when super brought up the problem and asked manager to look at it they simply said NO and tried avoiding them all the time only reason those good reviews are there because they give people a tour and ask them to write the review before they realize what a disaster that place is. 98 percent of all the apartments in the winter time they get cold air coming in thru the windows b/c the bad insulation and management another problem most apartments have is they all get bad smell thru the hvac. Another problem you will realize when you do the tour is the flooring has gaps and holes when you step on it. there is still leaks going on in the building and still management don't care I will be adding pictures and videos.

Port and Main is by far the best place I have ever stayed! Great hospitality from the managers Samantha and Sandra, wonderful location, brand new building that is cleaned daily, and lastly apartment itself is comfortable and safe. Highly recommend if you are looking for a comfortable place to stay! 🙂

I genuinely believe the unit I was in (213) doesn’t have insulation (see other review). I could hear everything from the unit above—when a phone alarm went off, when the closet door opened, the sound of their bed creaking, it was creepy. Management does not care. All bottom of the line, builders grade appliances, shoddy construction, for a ridiculously high price. HVAC emitted a weird, gross smell and sometimes the entire floor smelled like garbage. My unit was spotless when I moved out besides the oven, which was not in bad condition at all. Sandra tried to charge me 50 dollars to have the oven cleaned when I moved out. Weird, being that the apartment had to be cleaned anyway. When I moved in, there was construction dust in the HVAC system, cabinet shelves were incorrectly installed (completely crooked without clear piece underneath) and I could tell they didn’t paint the wall over the kitchen cabinets. Light bulbs went out a couple months after moving in and bathroom fan stopped working around the same time. It was only until recently they started paying staff to be present on Saturday. Before that, you had to work around their schedule and take off work if you wanted anything fixed. Random people who don’t live there got into the stairwell because the building isn’t secured. Don’t listen to any of the reviews of people who “toured” the building. I can’t speak to their experience, but it’s clear they didn’t live at Port and Main and it appears they were instructed to write a good review. Was so happy to move out and put this behind me.

RESIDENTIAL CONDITIONS AT PORT & MAIN

This review serves as a firsthand notification regarding the unacceptable living conditions and safety violations at Port & Main. As the first resident, I had encountered numerous serious issues that warranted immediate attention.

1. Defective Amenities: The washing machine was inoperative, necessitating multiple trips to a laundromat for essential laundry services, without any reimbursement. Additionally, there are ongoing ant infestations, strong sulfur odors emanating from sinks and vents and were deficiencies in the dishwasher (missing parts). I purchased a higher grade hvac filter as the quality ones are not standard here.

2. Safety Violations: There are multiple fire code violations prominently posted in the building. The courtyard is inaccessible due to non-compliance with fire safety regulations. Moreover, there are persistent issues with buzzing fire alarms at inconvenient hours, and a lack of a live-in superintendent for emergencies raises further concerns.

3. Security Issues: The building’s entrance single door is inadequately secured, allowing unauthorized individuals to access the lobby, including instances of individuals sleeping there. The parking situation is precarious, with a requirement to pay for monthly parking in an unsupervised MTA lot, resulting in wrongful booting and additional fees (not reimbursed). The “security” is rarely on duty and or is sleeping in his car.

4. Management Negligence: Despite numerous written communications highlighting these critical safety and maintenance issues, building management has failed to adequately respond or take proper action. Their claim that MTA oversees these matters is lazy, particularly as residents are charged for this “amenity.” They refused to provide a direct contact for who was responsible.

5. Unjust Charges: Upon vacating the premises, I was unexpectedly charged a $200 “cleaning fee,” which required further correspondence to resolve.

Given the abundance of these issues, lack of accountability and hospitality, I recommend that prospective residents seek alternative accommodations until these matters are resolved. Good luck!

Recently toured at Port & Main, spoke with Sandra and toured with Samantha from management. They both seem very professional and helpful. The units are modern and spacious. I would definitely recommend port & main to any new renters moving to Port Chester!

I recently toured the building thinking I was moving to the area. Building seems to be run very well, management is extremely kind and knowledgeable Samantha was able to answer any and every question that we had. We loved the unit that we toured and would have chosen it but I got a job offer in a different area. Had I stayed in the area, Port & Main would have definitely been where we moved!

Management is POOR. For a new building I understand there are some issues but there is no cooperation and no accountability when something goes wrong. Also I had to tell multiple tenants about their online portal because they were not told, and the portal is where you do maintenance requests and see your account information. So they have just been paying by check unknowingly. I have been here for a few months and have a list of issues, but management is number 1. They say they want happy tenants however they only care about money and their reviews. ---My recent issue has been solved however they tried to give me a quid-pro-quo to take the review down in exchange for their help.
