Best landlords I’ve ever had! Office staff is friendly. Maintenance issues dealt with quickly. The few times I locked myself out in my 5 years with them I was let in by the handy man no charge. When I moved out I was only charged a nominal amount out of my security deposit for spilling dark red wax on a patch of white carpet, totally my fault and I’d expected a larger deduction. I’d still be renting from them if I were still in the area!

My roomates and I were looking into moving into one of the apartments this company has listed in hartford, CT. The first time we saw the apartment, we were shown three. There is no parking space, garage, lot at all but we're familiar with the area so that wasn't going to be a problem. After asking if the building has had a history of bugs we were assured that they "only have occasional mice". Upon opening the cabinets, we instantly found a roach. The guy assured us again that he's never seen one in the building before and stated that the prior tenant left her apartment in a hurry and broke the lease. Ok. We let the guy doing the showing know upon meeting him that we were not able to pass a background check due to one of us having a prior eviction and thus low credit and were told that that was ok and we would only have to pay an extra security deposit. Fine. After a week of maintaining communication and working with the man that showed us the apartment, we got a call from Rose (ext 302) stating "The apartment is a no-go because of the eviction and low credit. " It's obvious this company either has a serious lack of communication between their employees and in-tenants, a discrimination problem or are money hungry because we asked many times about the eviction being a problem and were ASSURED we would still be able to take it with an extra security, which was never offered to us before Rose hung up, prior to us being able to say anything and without instructions on how to get back the $25 per person application fee that was paid by the way. This company's employee was neither professional nor people/customer friendly and should make sure that the TENANTS they have showing these apartment listings are KNOWLEDGEABLE about what they can/can't work with so that EVERYONE's time isn't wasted and so that the RIGHT EXPECTATION CAN BE SET for future potential tenants.
