We just finished a new construction home in Citrus County. I’ve been to the Citrus County Building Division several times for additional permits for a shed + pool. The building is state of the art and the staff is very courteous and efficient for local government employees. Every time I’ve called , asked or presented an issue they have always come through. Considering how fast Citrus is growing I think they are doing a decent job.

Always had great positive and helpful communication from anyone that answered the phone at the county office. Also, someone always called me back, if an employee didn’t know the answer. And I had to call many many times trying to get my house completed.

Wilma, Jennifer, Tiffany, Lanette, Shasta, Kim, Donna, Julie, Heather, Bobby, Mike, Jeff, Susan, Karla, Mark, Lorrie, Cindy, GT, Vincent, Peter, Carl to name some of the most OUTSTANDING people who run this Building Department are AMAZING to work with. From the moment of processing to the inspection team.
I cannot thank them enough for the easy process, helpful, communicative and quick response I have always received from all of them. They work so hard and it shows. I work with entire state of Florida and Citrus is one of the best counties in the state of FLORIDA. THANK YOU CITRUS and thank you to all the amazing people who run this place! my apologies if i forgot to name a few others as you are ALL EXCELLENT!!

A bunch of people who enjoy making residents of Citrus County miserable. Lies, misinformation, horrible customer service and you will never get a straight answer! Even if they don't know something they will make something up. Oh and did I mention that they are also thief's! Worse mistake of my life was trying to build a home in Citrus County, my first mistake used to be meeting and getting married to my first wife. Now she is number 2.

All I got to say with all this crazy building going on , I decided to personally check on the status of our family new home permitting . Tiffany was very knowledgeable and called right back . Also Residential engineering department . Also two lady’s Lori / missy . Very easy to understand permitting . Thanks again lady’s I cannot wait to become your new Citrus County resident . I have a neighbor who is in 3 violations, that were acknowledged from photos I sent. Code enforcement has done nothing to get him to fix the issues. They have contacted me once. Don't bother calling them, it's a waste of time. Just causes trouble between neighbors with no resolution.

So far we have had nothing but excellent service with the building department. The lady’s at the front desk answering questions to the cashier everyone has been super helpful and friendly.
