It is obscene that our tax dollars subsidize government overreach and useless, intrusive and offensive intrusion into private citizens' lives and homes, while ignoring massive violations in the quality of our roads and utilities. Government is a construct by the PEOPLE, not an oppressor of the people. The fact that government employs people whose job it is to harass and subject citizens to ridiculous statutes is abhorrent. These people should be fired, government should be stripped of all the superfluous nonsense that tax dollars are paying for. Government needs to be reminded why it exists. Government employs public SERVANTS, not fascist control freaks.

This is about our city, our government, and our lives.
Horrible place to live now. Homeless everywhere, may be the new Mayor will clean it up. Don't know about the new Sheriff, we just have to see. Forget the police department, take a number. If I were Mayor, I'd round up all the homeless who came from Los Angeles and ship them back. Trash in our streets and tents on the hills. Horrible dump.

Update They also lie to you. They told me I could draw certain plans myself, they even sent examples...Only to be practically laughed at by my contractor! Do yourself a favor and just go straight to a GOOD contractor with ANY questions you may have. These people will only waste your time.
This has to be the most incompetent group of people I have EVER had the displeasure of dealing with. Two hours and 6 phone calls and I have gotten NOWHERE. Nothing but frustration. Every single person I spoke with was either rude, unhelpful or incompetent. Don't bother with the "easy" on line forms and trying to call for help as their website suggests. Just go down there.

Turtle beats them at speed. It seams their job is to make sure nothing gets done so they can do what they are good at. It takes them a week to read their email and come up with new excuses. It takes generations to obtain permits in San Bernardino, in my case 3 years and still counting. To make a living with tax payers money is one thing and serving the public is another..

I called the county, upset, because I could not see a permit that was issued to me online. The gentleman who answered the phone was very kind, even though I was frustrated, and helped me find the permit I was looking for. It was my mistake, I was looking in the wrong place. He still told me to have a good day! I’m use to city/county officials being vague and very non-reciprocative. I really appreciated his help.

Lines can be long at times, and the wait is long as well. But they will answer your question and issue permits if all your papers are in order.

One hour wait for 3 people ahead of me. 1 person working the counter, no comment forms to fill out, but a box to drop them.
