Update:
Just received notice from Duke energy that the PCUL just pledged a tidy sum to pay off my bill and then some for next bill. I am so grateful! God bless you all for your help and compassion!!! 💝🙏🙏 I finally received a call back from the PCUL. Thank the Lord! I was really getting anxious as I hadn’t heard anything and received my disconnect notice today! They approved me for IHEAP, and called back to let me know it had been guaranteed to Duke. I am so grateful! God bless you all for your help! My ac ran my bill to outrageous amounts. I finally got my landlord to replace it! Thank you!!!! 🙏🙏🙏

I Marcus Holmes take exceptional appreciation of the pinellas county Urban League. They were closed and 2 kind people first Malcolm Flakes and Brenda Chambliss were off the clock gave me the best assistance I've ever experienced in my 49 years of life by helping me with some emergency matters. I would like to thank them again and whoever employed them because they made the best decisions in an employee that you can make. My point to this also is if you give respect, you'll definitely receive it back

Thank you antonette! With proper documentation provided to them, I only had to submit a handful of documents and a few days later I got a notification from duke energy that I received assistance. It was easy and it didn’t make me feel uncomfortable at all. I’ve never had to apply for assistance before and I appreciate how seamless they made this for me. It’s so nice to know there are resources out there to get you through in times of need.

The lady that works in the part that helps with the electric bill is sooo rude and uncompassionate !!! And she’s also judgmental she should not be in that position we shouldn’t feel judged seeking help !!! And she always acts like everybody is aggervating her get a new job if you don’t like what you do your clearly in it for the money

Sadly I have had a horrible experience with this nonprofit agency. I applied for LIHEAP assistance months ago received one VM and have been calling the agency multiple times a week for months trying to get ahold of someone to return the call. Many of the numbers associated with this agency have full mailboxes so no matter how many times you call you never get anyone or can leave a message. Also, I used the contact form several times to try and reach someone and no one has ever emailed back. I finally decided to leave a VM for the executive secretary FRANCINE or Francis who had space in her mailbox spoke to her and she was rude in my opinion she seemed bothered I was contacting her told me it's not her department and the best she can do is put me on a list to have someone call me. Now I have worked in nonprofits for 8+ years and understand the importance of treating people with dignity and respect especially as they come seeking support. I am disgusted with this agency and am not sure if they are the best agency to be holding such an important Grant such as LIHEAP for a county when it is impossible to reach them, they don't check vm's to respond to messages and the staff clearly lack the ability to treat clients with dignity during hard times. I am going to be following up at a higher level just because I believe in preserving the integrity of non-profits that sustain themselves by getting grants to service people in need so they should do that diligently and with integrity.
