!! BEWARE: Chinese born US Citizen trying to apply for Chinese Visa !!

My experience is with CIBT, which bought out CVSC.
If you are a Chinese born US Citizen, they will not prepare your documentation, even if you are requesting the Premium service option. After a 20 email long thread going back and forth, someone at CIBT cancelled my order with just "Unfortunately, we will cancel the order as we do not prepare documents for personal appearance for China". Look elsewhere for help.

I applied for a Chinese tourist visa. They said it was estimated to take 10 days from when I submitted the application, but this was not accurate. They meant 10 days from when THEY submit the application to the Chinese consulate, which is whenever they can get an appointment with the consulate. This ended up being 15 days after I submitted my documents to them, so a total wait of 25 days for me. This was not communicated to me and I was not able to get a full refund, as I need my passport before that.

Also, their hours are not accurate on Google. Their office closes at 1pm every day.

Absolutely amazing customer service, communication, and clarity. I was in an unusual position where I had to send some original government-issued documents along with my passport, and CVSC helped ensure all the documents were returned to me without trouble. Turn-around was fast and efficient, and CVSC kept me updated on my visa application every step of the way, including after they mailed my visa back to me. Could not recommend their service more - trustworthy, with a straightforward and easy to understand website, they certainly went above and beyond what I was expecting, even going in to the consulate to discuss my case. In the end, they secured me a better visa than I applied for! Would recommend CVSC to anybody applying for a Chinese visa.

Thanks for the review here on CVSC. I'm looking for the services to renew my Chinese passport. I have 2 questions. If anyone knows they need an appointment during the pandemic time right now. Do they do Chinese Passport renewal? I called them, but was hold for 15min with no one pickup the phone. Just hope to know what services they have and the appointment is needed as I have to drive 1hour for this. Thanks!

Wonderful service with CVSC which contrasts from the awful and slow service at the SF Chinese consulate (besides the security guards who have really nice in past visits). CVSC was quick to get things done, even with the cheapest option, and they were quick to contact me when challenges arose. Those challenges would have added at least another full day for me if I were to go to the consulate myself. Not the cheapest service in the world, but no doubt in its value!

This was an excellent service. At first I was going to secure two Chinese tourist Visas (me and my girlfriend) myself since I was travelling to SF anyway. I filled out the forms using advice from the Internet, but I wasn't certain every value was correct, especially since I desired the 10-year multi-entry visa. I went to the China Consulate in SF and waited in the security line outside for 45 minutes. Then I was given a number 121 when they were still serving #44 after being open 1.5 hours by that point. Rather than face a multi-hour wait, followed by at least an hour a few days later to pick up my visa (that one is shorter), I just walked over to CVSC. They charged $99 each for the service, plus $29 to mail our two passports back to our house in Washington State. Plus the normal $140 fee (each) charged by the Consulate. There were no hidden fees. I went to their office on a Tuesday and they had our Visas the following Monday (one day earlier than promised), and they arrived at our door Tuesday. Keep in mind that they used FedEX without a signature requirement, so have them mail it to a secure place. If you are already splurging on luxury flight or accommodations for your China trip, the CVSC charge doesn't add much and is an easy choice. The only time I might not use them would be a tight-budget trip where I had more free time than money available and also lived near San Francisco.
