I had a REALLY great experience with AJR; most of my work was with Jon and Selina. From start to finish, they always upheld integrity, fairness, and clear communication... as well as kindness and ease when I needed anything. My check-in process was great. My checkout process was refreshingly fair and easy. My previous check-out experience with another house had challenges (with an individual, not a property manager), so I had a little nerves around how much we'd agree on the condition and my responsibility. We were 100% on the same page, and it felt SO GOOD. So, I HIGHLY recommend tenancy with AJR. (I've also been a homeowner with a property management team, and I know how a property manager serves both the owner and the tenant. This team does SO well.) 5+ stars for them!

I don't post a lot of reviews, but I need to give a "shout out" to John Ahl of AJR Management, whom I have known since 2016, when I first moved to the Fresno area. I have leased three properties from John before finally purchasing my "forever home" a couple of months ago. It has been a pleasure dealing with him because he is friendly, professional, and fair with security deposits, etc. In fact, when my neighbor (who also rents from John) forgot to leave a key to let his dogs out while he was out of town, John made a special trip on a Saturday to meet me with a key so we could help with the dogs. He is a great person, and I have the utmost respect for him. I recommend John and his team whole heartedly. If you need a management company, they are the ones to call!!! Thank you, John and team for your years of excellent service!

Best rental company in Fresno. John and Selina are very professional and they met my needs in renting a home. They have beautiful properties to choose from fast and quick turnaround time would recommend AJR properties in the future. Thank you I’m happy in my home.

Both Jon and Jessica have treated us fairly and respectfully over the last two and a half years. Very responsive to any needs, small or large. Once, after a very strong wind, part of the yard fencing was blown over. Jon immediately got someone over to repair and our neighbors were so thankful that a major part of their yard, which had wood sections all over, was cleaned up quickly.
Would recommend AJR to anyone looking to rent or buy, or have them manage your property.

Jessica really went over and above with helping me get approved for one of their rental properties. I was called within hours of dropping off my application. I had a few complications with getting verification back from previous rental properties and instead of them turning me down they kept trying. I also was not quite at the income requirements but because of the AJR team's willingness to put in the extra effort and verify all my past rental history they were able to get me approved. They were very respectful and helpful and always answered their phones or called me back within an hour of leaving message. I would highly recommend working with them. They treat you like a person not just a "tenant".

John, Jessica and the entire AJR team make renters feel properties are their home and ensure owners investments retain value. As a renter and owner of rental properties I can attest to their unique abilities in resolving challenges before they become unnecessary problems. Their communication is professional, timely and collaborative with all parties. They do all the heavy lifting for both owner/renter making the transition into a new home seamless and stress free experience. With most companies you get the bare minimum, but with John and Jessica you get a partner invested in your success.

My husband and I moved out of state but we were not ready to sell our home. We interviewed about 4 or 5 management companies and there was no comparison. Jessica came to our home and talked us through their process, from what we needed to do to what their process for interviewing potential renters. Jessica and John are consummate professionals. We always knew what was going on, and we always knew everything was taken care of. When it came time to sell our house, Jessica was able to transition right into listing the property. She took care of all the details and really fought to get us a great price for our home. I have nothing but great things about AJR!

Many people will complain about a property management company because they do not end up qualifying for a particular home
If it’s ‘just for this reason’ you’re complaining –
It’s probably not their fault but your own for not having your ducks in a row before applying.
However – PART of maintaining a reputable property management company should consist of owners/employees treating property owners, tenants, And potential tenants (whether qualified or unqualified) with respect and precision.
The reason my review for this company isn’t a positive one is due to how this company handles a rejected applicant. I applied for a lovely home in Clovis Where the rent was initially listed as $1395 – I made about two or three inquiries regarding the property the first 4 or 5 days I seen it listed –By the time I was ready To bring in my application they told me the rent went up to $1495 because lawn and pool service was being added to this property (Mind you, initially it had these features included in the rent)
This caused me to hesitate putting in an application but I decided to go ahead with it anyway I had talked to the male at the company and he stated that if income wasn’t quite 3x the amount of rent
They would consider Rental History and Credit. My credit score is high 600’s I’ve had a few bumps but have quite a few accounts in good standing-- I have over 3 years of rental history which if I recall was the requirement The female at the company kind of mocked my moms lack of credit and I expressed clearly it was due to her being disabled. When it came to my rental history it asks for your last few addresses or so – I had over 3 years of personal and verifiable Rental history -- There was a property I lived in for a period that was with a family member so I had to list that instead of a complex I had lived in before that with over 2 years of verifiable history to include with the present property I was at which had a year of history. The document didn’t give you enough room nor was I even asked whether I had more rental history to strengthen the application.
The outcome was an application rejection – The lady wasn’t specific on the credit requirement and stated they didn’t go by ‘the score’ but the ‘history’ (This could mean so many things!) I asked how I could improve my application to make it stronger For FUTURE rentals and she wouldn’t answer me and wasn’t open to helping me qualify for future homes . I offered to provide more rental history to see if that would help strengthen the application – However, she wouldn’t budge .. I asked if I could use the applications against A more nominal property listing with their company she said they wouldn’t consider my application for any property. There was no transparency nor ability to try to reason with someone – The property owner wasn’t going to be done w/ fixing his property for another week so there was time to make changes and strengthen the app! She also said the owner of the property wasn’t pleased with the app (Well yea she didn’t ask me if there was a way to improve it)

The only thing that’s good about this company are the homes that are displayed – the structure and consistency is flawed!
AGAIN I can probably understand why I didn’t qualify for the specific home of choice – BUT a company should make a person with an accepted or rejected application feel good.
Credit can change, rental history gets better, and one will probably get a better job or grow in a company where they make even more money -- With how these people handled my application they harmed any future business I would have done with them.

They definitely need a better screen process here and a better attitude!
