Our previous landlord approved a move out 1 month early to provide more access to the house listed for sale. The management company took 60 days to return our deposit and last months rent they only returned the deposit saying they "accidentally" released a large portion of the last months rent to a contractor that installed a fence for the property, they said we need to coordinate the funds from the owner.

Upon reaching out to the owner..

Owners response below:

"Keyes made an accounting error and misappropriated your funds to pay other invoices they incurred on my behalf. I told them that they needed to pay for this error and that the issue was not your fault, but theirs. I do not have the shortage they indicate nor did I agree to pay it to you directly. Martin stated that they never had a formal agreement to term the lease early without payment. I will likely be filing a suit against them. "

Basically the owner is trying to use the management's error to not pay for " invoices they incurred on their behalf".

Keys violated multiple statutes regarding the handling of our funds & was an absolutely terrible company to work with.

I would never rent a property that is managed by this company OR hire them to manage any of my own properties.

We are filling suit as well as submitting a formal complaint to the board of licensing as well as the attorney General.

Buyer beware of false listings. A recent sale in Lighthouse Point advertised a saltwater pool and generator, neither of which existed. Would look to other realtors
