According to county postings all of the cottages and accessory structures are permitted to be demolished. The power has been disconnected and the perimeter fencing is up. Just a matter of time before the excavator machines tear into it. Unknown what the future plans are but it is doubtful new cottages will be built here.

11/27/24. Awesome beach location but the cottages are severely damaged by two recent hurricanes/flooding. Closed at this time with no signs of clean up or repairs.

Spectacular location and unit.
Disgusting repulsive care!!
We love the location and the cottage.
Beach is great.
But basic care of this wonderful location and unit is as bad as it can get.
This is our third year. We r a bit daft.
1. Three to five cockroaches 🪳 every day.
2. Tub faucet leaking for all three years
3. Front right burner busted for three years.
(they fixed it for me the other day)
4. Beach umbrellas and chairs are broken.
If a responsible party ran this it could be fixed in a week.
It's a great unit

Failed disgraceful care of units.

We stayed in the starfish III. Cute older house with nice beach and outside area. What the owners don’t tell you is that they have a bad roach problem and ants too. They had a sign siting on the bathroom counter stating they spray for bugs and to let them know if you are sensitive to chemicals so they can spray a different day. Obviously with a sign like that they know they have a problem. During our stay my husband, or my dad removed multiple roaches soo many that I lost count. They were everywhere! My son awoke to one crawling in his bed with him. My husband stepped on one while going to the bathroom in the night and it squished between his toes. They were behind pictures on the wall, in cupboards, and the closets! The ants were everywhere all over the kitchen counters which made it very difficult to prepare food, but that was more of an annoyance and nothing compared to the roaches! We had to eat all meals out! We felt absolutely disgusting having to stay there since there was nowhere else for us to go besides our car. I would not recommend staying here as the owners know they have bugs, they refer to them as palmetto bugs which is a fancy term for American cockroach!!!

Our family was looking for a quiet beach getaway....and boy did we find it! Cannons by the sea is the definition of laid back....no bells no whistles....just waves and sand. The cottage was cute, clean, air conditioned and just right for our family of four. If you want to venture out - 'down town' was a couple minutes away. The beach is unbelievable. We watched dolphins playing, crabs scurrying and schools of fish flopping. It was like no one else was there....the beach was quite - perfect. Our children had the best time. They saw large sting rays and baby sharks swimming and my daughter found two sand dollars. It was a family vacation we will never forget. Thank you Clare. You have something special there! Keep it up.

We spent the Christmas holiday here, very nice! The cottage was very clean and cute. Sweet comforters & sheets in the double room. It looked like the place had been painted recently and there were some very nice little accents, like the tiles in the bathroom shower. The kitchen is very simple, but, everything you need is there. Absolutely loved the real wood floors! There were a few small things that need attention, dirty air vents and ripped screen, but, obviously fixable in a few minutes!
Our only complaint was that the living room furniture is extremely uncomfortable, we almost went home (we live nearby) for bean bag chairs! The beach is stunning and you feel like you're the only ones there and the place was full! We are planning to go back! Thank you for a great 3 days!

My husband and I stayed at Cannons by the Sea in October 2017. We were looking for a long weekend getaway directly on the beach. I had visited LBK previously on a girls' trip and loved it. The area is so peaceful. This area is a retirement community. Everything is so quiet. If you have small children, this place is not for you. The property consists of 4 small rustic cottages. These cottages are very cute/quaint but don't have modern décor. The cottages are steps from the beach through a grove of trees. This property is in an excellent and location - directly on the beach and quiet. Immediately upon our arrival, we walked out to the beach and saw 2 manatees! A group of men were walking along the beach and walked into the water and began to swim with them. We probably saw a total of 5 other people on this long stretch of beach during our stay. Peaceful. There are several low-key places to eat and St. Armand's Square to shop. ||||The cottages, again, are very rustic. The furniture is a mixture of garage sale quality furnishings. However, the beach makes up for this issue. There is a small full kitchen and one bathroom with shower/tub combo. ||||We found little dead worm/bugs throughout out stay, and when I looked under the furniture to inspect for live bugs I saw more dead bugs and lots of dust and cobwebs. Again, "rustic."

We had a very good time here. These are old Florida beach cabins. Don't go for fancy fixtures, people watching, or WiFi. Go for privacy and beautiful, uncrowded beaches and family time. We stayed at the Starfish cabin. We had a big table to eat at and play games with the family. The cabin wasn't very big. There was a separate guest laundry on site. I wish we didn't have to walk quite so far to get to the beach. We had only one bug, a millipede.
