Do yourself a favor and find yourself another realtor for renting. Manager thinks owner is god and customers have no rights to see him even if they have complaints. They will cut a big chunk from your deposit, even though the house you left is almost spotless. BEWARE: In their lease they have a clause that the carpet needs to be cleaned by the professionals(PLEASE READ YOUR LEASE), I even paid a carpet company 120 dollars for cleaning the burnt carpet I got, and they charged me again for carpet cleaning from my deposit. I cant believe they are running a scam to renters by giving the cleaning to their sister company, sucking whatever they can from the customers when they leave. Good luck with your house hunt and again please read the lease.

I am only giving two stars and not one because they did some okay work with us some of the time. However it almost became a legal situation, scary some of time and uncomfortable a good bit of the time. We were not treated fairly while tenants and discriminated against when telling office of issues in the house as well as when owner's son arrived there. They treated us like we had the problem for telling them. Seemed like they thought they were in the right. There was a major pipe leak under the house they let go for the last few months where we had to pay around $500 each month they refused to fix in time. We had a plumber confirm it while moving out that there was a leak indeed. They also tried to say the condensation on the roof from the swamp cooler was causing damage and we were liable to replace part of the roof. I started going through my legal office and wanted get out of there asap. Our last two years living in Twenty nine palms with a credible rental company TRIAD was a much better experience like night and day.

DO NOT RENT A PROPERTY FROM THIS PLACE. Save your self from being a victim of a scam, because that is all this place is. A SCAM. I currently have a BBB complaint against them for scamming people. You can tell just from all of the people writing reviews on this place, exactly how many people got screwed by this unethical business. It is no secret that most of the tenants that rent from them are Active duty, and DoD members like us, which shows how low this place is. That they are willing to scam Military members out of their hard earned, and little money they make. First off, the customer service is sub-par. They are very rude and make sarcastic remarks to you like you're dumb and don't deserve the time of day. The replies on all of these google reviews should give you a taste of how rude they are. Especially the manager Stephanie. Second, our deposit was around $1500, which is abnormally large for only a $1000 monthly rent. Ive been renting properties from all over the country and all of them only needed 1x monthly rent for security deposit. But that just shows their out to keep as much as possible. They kept exactly $977 dollars of out $1500 deposit. These are the reasons why the said they kept that much money.
$165 - house cleaning. (we cleaned this house spotless and according to their "house cleaning guide"
$165 - carpet cleaning. (we had no pets, the carpet was spotless)
$147.36 - "repairs" (they did not list what was repaired)
$450. - yard cleanup (we did not have any trash in the yard and again did not list was exactly was cleaned)
$50 - Hauling (we had nothing in the house except for a working washer, which they said we can leave because it was working)

Part of the "repairs" was replacing a toilet paper holder which was broken before we moved in and we noted that on out move in checklist, and missing flood light hall way lights that they said were specialty bulbs and they will replace (which never happened for the year we lived there) and "two bent window screens." We never even opened any window because it was always hot out.

Save yourself from being scammed. Don't a rent a property from them.

If I could rate these people a negative billion I would. NEVER rent with plaza realtors. They have completely screwed us and some of my friends from the inside out. They do not care about there tenants at all. They take advantage of people especially military because they know we move around a lot. We have had multiple problems with them where I was hung up on and I had to physically go to their office to talk to them. We got our security deposit back and we got less than half of our 2,000 security deposit for things that I did write on our move in paper. For example I wrote that our master bedroom light was chipped when we moved in. Plaza said because i didn’t write “broken or cracked” I wrote the word “chipped” so we were charged for it. So many other things have happened with them. Terrible customer service, just a terrible company. I posted this on multiple pages on Facebook and there are ENDLESS comments of people’s terrible experiences with this company. Save yourself the time and money and do not rent with this company.

I have been in this place several times to attempt to rent a house. My application was complete. I am well above minimum qualifications. Houses are available. Rather than rent them, this place collects 20 plus applications for the same property and leads you on. This place is collecting money from “application fees.” I should have known from the attitude of the two clerks that something wasn’t right. Each time I was there (4), they were dealing with an angry applicant or tenant. It seems like management would recognize that the problem lies with the under qualified staff. And when they are off the angry phone calls they trash talk the tenant/applicant they just dealt with right in front of new applicants. You should avoid this place at all costs. Dependability to contact you as promised and people skills cause problems in addition to their application scam. This is not a professional business. This is a few uneducated, untrained women who figured out a good scam. They have big attitudes in little positions. Give them 35 bucks and tell me I’m wrong....

I am fortunate I only lost 35 dollars after reading these other reviews. I have never had to deal with those problems. I think I have dodged a bullet.

Not sure what the other reviewers are talking about, but I had a great experience with Plaza. They were always quick to answer back about a repair or problem with our property and gave our security deposit completely back. The house itself was in a nice neighborhood and was very quiet, the appliances were well kept and the 1 time the Central AC went out they had it repaired the same day within the hour. The employees were always friendly and respectful of my unconventional military schedule. I would definitely recommend them to anybody living in the area. Semper Fi.

I highly recommend against having any business done with Stephanie Gandre, her associates, and Plaza Realtors 29 Palms. This company was caught actively engaging in an illegal "application processing fee" scam by refusing to refund fees they collected- with which they never intended to process actual applications with. And by California Law, Civil Code 1950.6. This is illegal.

This fraudulent practice can be highly lucrative for a property rental/management company. They can collect a massive amount of "application processing fees" for a popular property and state that their application "disclosure" protects their right to keep the fees submitted, even if they didn't actually process the potential tenants for consideration. And That. Is. BOGUS.

I have disputed the charges they refused to refund to me with my bank, done my research to verify the law that protects my rights, and have filed a formal complaint to the California Department of Real Estate's Enforcement; in hopes that no one else is conned by Stephanie Gandre and her fraudulent business practices.

So please know your rights people:
IF YOU'RE A RENTER ACTIVELY APPLYING FOR PROPERTIES- DO NOT BE FOOLED BY ANY RENTAL PROPERTY COMPANY CLAIMING THIER FALSE RIGHTS TO YOUR APPLICATION PROCESSING FEES- IF THEY NEVER PROCESSED YOUR INFORMATION AS A POTENTIAL RESIDENT. (Only actual tasks such as running background checks- which you're entitled to copy of, checking credit reports, calling references, and similar screening tasks count as actual application "processing") If they state that they canceled your application beforehand- like Stephanie Gandre told me, and never did any of those things, THEY ARE NOT ENTITLED TO KEEP YOUR "APPLICATION PROCESSING FEE" Period. They didn't do anything to deserve it.

So if you were also a victim of this type of fraud, ask for your money back, know that the CA law is on your side, dispute and file a formal complaint.

DO NOT rent from this company, unless you just want to throw your security deposit away!! We left the unit cleaner than when we moved in, had broken shelving repaired, filled in and repainted gouges in the walls, and improved the landscaping by replanting where stuff had died as well as bringing the oleanders back to life. They took a couple weeks to get around to inspecting the unit after we moved out, at which point they sent a list of items that still needed to be cleaned. We cleaned the unit again, for a total of 10 + man-hours spent cleaning, and they still kept a chunk of our deposit, apparently for dead flies and neighbor dog poop that accumulated after we moved out. They didn't have the decency to return a half-dozen voice mails we left or written correspondence asking for an explanation as to what they were still charging us for. The unit was overpriced and furnished with cheap second-hand appliances to start with. They get one star because you can't select none. Don't rent from them - find someone else!
