I've been residing in the Affiliated building for over two decades, and if the negative portrayals were accurate, I wouldn't have stayed this long. Our century-old building has seen its share of use and abuse from various residents, and it doesn't pretend to be a brand-new structure.
Despite its age, there's ongoing investment in the building, including new elevators, boilers, windows, awnings, and pavers. It has evolved significantly from what it was 20+ years ago. The landscaping is consistently well-maintained, and common areas are cleaned twice a week.
The value for money is exceptional, considering the prime location and proximity to everything within walking distance. Given the current average price for a 1-bedroom in our town ($2700) and the NJ average ($2300), the savings by staying in the Affiliated building are substantial, totaling $12k annually.

I rent at the Mace Realty building. They need to redo the apartments & basement. My bedroom wall has major water damage & peeling & its not being repaired. My kitchen floor tile is peeling & we were provided the tile pieces to replace ourselves, the bathroom needs to be repainted...the shower tile was peeling horribly & it finally got painted but the rest of the walls was not painted. Need new kitchen cabinets. Every year there is a problem with the heat as management constantly turns down the heat & it is cold. Today its 46 degrees & no heat is on. The hallway in the building is never cleaned. The elevator has been out since July 2021 & they just started having someone work on the elevator in October. Its still not fixed.
