Bay area managed my property for several years. As a first time landlord taking a job out of state on short notice I did not do my due diligence on the company. My home rented itself on the first showing with an offer for more than the asking rental price due to the care and love I put into my house and the extensive renovations. The first tenets moved out after three years. I was told there was no damage to the property and it was left in great condition. I never received one picture or video of the property during the three years Bay Area managed it nor at moveout. While the property sat vacant for over two months, I received an invoice of over $4,000 for repairs. Of course I immediately called to inquire what this was about. After an hour on the phone arguing with the owner Debra I was told it was inaccurate and they were going to fire the general contracting company who prepared the estimate. I am still confused on the whole situation. After a week and a half I received another estimate for less than 10% of the initial estimate for professional cleaning and a change of blinds. I knew at that point it I should have changed property management companies but unfortunately I did not. After the new tenets moved in I was informed there was an issue with the pool company. I included pool care in the rent and the apparently they had not come to the property in over a month. I then received an estimate from Bay Area from another pool company to drain and refill the pool because it was so dirty. Bay Area had been contacted by the tenants and neglected the issue now I was to pay for it. After voicing my concerns, to Bay Area I received an email from the owner Debra that THEY were giving ME a 30 days notice of ending our contract. I have never dealt with a more unprofessional and immature company. Isn’t that the time the company realizes they have failed, acknowledge that, and make things right? Not Bay Area. After speaking to new property management companies I have began to learn other policies which I wish I had known sooner, for example, if the tenants clog the toilet with wipes (cost to clear the line was $250-$300 each time) then that should be their responsibility. This happened 3 times and I being naïve, paid each time. Information is not flowing or readily available from Bay Area. When the tenants moved out that Bay Area was managing they refused to pay the last month of rent and said to take the security deposit instead. They stated Bay Area was so bad on taking care of issues they knew they would have to wait for months to receive the security deposit back. When nothing comes up with your property, Bay Area will happily take their cut and provide you the rest. When there is an issue, it will fall on your lap to take care of despite having a property management company, which defies the purpose of having one in the first place. There were several times I was left trying to figure out how to remedy and issue instead of Bay Area providing me with solutions and an estimate. This is not the company to use if you want easy and worry free management. I could go on and on with the unprofessional examples this company has displayed.

Bay Area Property Management is best described by one word - Professionalism. As a realtor and a tenant, I have dealt with so many Property Management companies but after moving into my current home, I instantly realized that they were in a different league in comparison to all other companies. They are responsive, very thorough and work efficiently. No matter what the issue the tenant may have, they have reliable companies that think highly of them and ready to take on projects at any time. A good example would be when I had problems with the water heater, though I reported it later in the day, Bay Area Property Management called their contact/company to fix the issue right away. Unfortunately the workers of that company already left for the day but the owner personally came out that same evening to fix the issue. They are always available to help. I would highly recommend their services. You won't be disappointed!

I have been a property owner and customer of Bay Area Property Management for several years now. David, the owner, is always very responsive. The team is always courteous and ready to help. I have been very happy with the tenants that they have matched us up with. In terms of home maintenance, they are responsive to the tenant's needs and are quick to give me an update if there are problems. I know can count on Brett if I have questions or concerns that need to be addressed. They are focused on what is best for the property owner while still make sure we have satisfied tenants. I would highly recommend this property management team.
