This is a growing desert city. Recently they have been doing a TON of work improving the streets and helping bring events in to town. It gets very hot here, but the people here are very community oriented and friendly. This town also does an amazing job of supporting small businesses.

There isn't one good restaurant in this town. I've been here 6 years. The roads need repair, even the ones that have been repaired. The stop lights will drive you insane! When will anything get done about the meth that still flows through this ares like a raging river?

This is a city where people come to die or hide from the law. Boring town, very friendly, miserable people. Everyone and everything here moves and operators so slow, 2-3 weeks before they pick up your trash, mail delivery is weeks behind, even Walmart pick up last hours.
The fastest people are door dashers and I think it’s just because they need to make money. There are No jobs here , no night life, no young people, no diversity, food is nasty, restaurants are dumps, even fast food is made incorrectly and nasty, salons, shopping, everything is just dated, made for older white people. It is quiet though and a short drive to Lake Isabella and Kernville .

Going on 3 weeks now and no trash pick up. I’ve posted pictures on social media and YouTube to show proof on why this city needs to remain a ghost town.
Giant crows going through everyone’s trash, spreading it throughout the streets and When it’s windy all the trash blows everywhere , on your car , on your driveway and on your lawn.

Light traffic, wide streets. Tons of stop signs. Good mix of desert and City, and not too far from the river.
Might be a decent place to retire
