Watch the Bay Area Transparency video on these public servants who harassed, ridiculed, and lied to a private citizen for constitutionally protected filming.
These people need to be reminded who they work for, the taxpayers like the good citizen they tried to bully.
If they cannot respect their position of respecting people rights and knowing those rights then perhaps they should find a new career.

Bringing anything up to modern code is challenging. SMC staff that I have interacted with have always been professional and courteous. They are also under enormous pressure from staff turnover.

Our ADU process has been challenging, but we are getting a much better product in the end because of SMC guidance and patience.

I had to step in for our project as an uneducated homeowner. SMC staff was always patient with me and willing to spend time educating me on what they are obligated to enforce by law.

The risk manager is absolutely out of control and unprofessional.

They need to learn how to treat public members and not call them curse words.

I suggest he gets de-escalation training and the entire department needs to get training on citizens rights and the constitution.

Run by bunch of free loader bureaucrats who want to collect salaries and do nothing. For the past two years I have called and emailed this department regarding a hoarding neighbor and they have not done nothing! Their property is a health and environmental hazard but this county department has done nothing. A great example of tax dollars going to waste!
