Ever since I lived there, had many problems tried to schedule repairs with maintenance talk to maintenance guy a few times said he’ll be back to repair and never came back. They came into my apartment and threw away my stuff and took my stuff without warning very rude. They are trying to charge me for everything that they failed to repair contacted the property management about mold in the closet and in the restroom the heat did not work cold winters cold there is ice on the windows they are trying to charge me thousands of dollars for stuff that I told them that they need to fix an address overall unprofessional plumbing issues water came up out of the sink. Water still comes out of the tub faucet issues. They are also trying to keep my deposit. Unsafe living conditions

I only lived in an apartment managed by Enigma Properties for 5 months (earlier this year) before I broke the lease. The only good part of renting from them was the ease in breaking the lease.

I had pretty severe water damage and leaking in my apartment after some heavy rains which took a month and a half to even get a response about. Photos of the damage are attached to this review, and I attached them to each of the several maintenance requests I put in. I understand that there was other work that needed to be done on the exterior, but I expected at least some acknowledgement of the problem and maybe a repair timeline. I received no response until I threatened to work with tenants' rights groups. The water damage also had a musty smell and I know mold was most likely starting in the walls, which poses a health risk. Once I did get a response, April was rude and dismissive of me wanting to have a safe living environment. The "repair" inside my apartment was just plastering over the damage, which I could see because it took several days for them to finish. After the "repair", I put a nail in the wall to hang some art because the wall was at least dry to the touch now. I removed the nail when I was moving out, and it was wet, rusty, and had a gummy coating. I doubt their repair actually fixed the problems from having wet walls, and I feel bad for the next tenant who moved in.

While I was living there, the bathroom in the unit below mine was experiencing a leak (not sure to what extent). I had one maintenance worker enter to check my bathroom by knocking on my door, but the following day they "checked in" again with no notice for something that was not an emergency, as it wasn't actively leaking (based on the note I received; I wasn't home). That was illegal, and honestly Enigma is lucky I didn't make a fuss. The "fix" also left a hole between my bedroom and their bathroom that I could see into their bathtub through the plumbing access door. There were a lot of noises I did not want to hear. This was eventually covered up.

The baseboards of my apartment all had huge gaps, the windows had gaps, everything had gaps. I didn't notice this while I was touring because I needed to move on fairly short notice so I wasn't as thorough as I should have been. This made it so I could hear my downstairs neighbor snoring at night. The walls are also paper thin in the building I lived in, so I could hear full conversations my neighbors were having in their units. I understand older buildings are not going to be soundproof, but after speaking with my friends who were living in buildings of the same age, I found out the noise level was not normal. The front windows of my unit were buckling and looked like they were ready to fall out.

About two years ago I was looking for an apartment and toured several Enigma properties. After I had seen a few, Hannah sent me a text saying they wouldn't show me any more apartments, and not kindly. There was no reason provided for this. I'm not sure if it was in some fine print, but we hadn't signed anything.

Additionally, they switched the laundry machines to only being operated by an app with no notice. They also raised the price. The app doesn't work in the basement because there's no cell service, which was a huge hassle.

I will never rent from Enigma again, and I would heavily discourage anyone else from renting with them.

If I could leave a 0 star review, I would.
Where do I begin? They buy the building and jack up the rent 100 dollars with absolutely no updates made except for them ripping out the carpet in the hallway/staircase, I got to live with rats coming up in the walls into underneath my kitchen sink, my roof caved in from water damage, don't know if I've been exposed to asbestos or insulation and they left it like that for 2 and a half weeks until they decided to fix it, there are "balconies" on either side of the building that are actual death traps surrounded in chicken wire and this entire place is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Funniest part? These people decided to keep most of my deposit because "I didn't clean properly" yet yall can let my roof cave in but that's fine? I didn't clean properly yet yall have rats running around in the basement where they get caught on the traps but of course, no one picks up the trap, so they rot in the basement. And that's supposed to be fine, yet I'm the one who didn't "clean properly"? You people are an entire joke.

Anyone thinking of trying to get an apartment from Enigma? Run in the opposite direction. The person who owns enigma and all the people working there that helped drive my building into the ground should all be ashamed of themselves. Well, congrats, 3 other people moved out on the same day I did. No one wants to deal with this garbage. Would any of you at Enigma properties like to live like this? If the answer is no, then why would you let all of this happen to me but not just me, but other tenants I knew. This place is despicable, and everyone here should be ashamed of themselves. You ran it into the ground and have drove out almost all of your tenants. Congratulations ?

I will never rent from Enigma again and I will be making sure to tell everyone I know to NEVER rent from these people. Thank God I've finally moved out, and got what's left of my deposit back so I can say all of these words with out retaliation because I was positive if I wrote this review while still a tenant, my lease would have been terminated or something dumb would have happened where I would have had to move any way. But if you do rent from these sorry excuses for landlords, they WILL find any and every way to keep your deposit. I'm quite surprised I even got mine back.

Slumlords to the MAX.

Probably the worst experience I have had renting.

Also- the very mean Russian men you sent to fix my roof ended up moving my guitar case WITHOUT permission and broke my guitar case as well. Just thought you'd people like to know. And I know I won't be getting money back for that either.
