I was very impressed with Alan until I had to make a valuable personal property claim using my insurance policy that was supposed to cover what was lost. After months of back and forth with Farmer’s, it turns out that the policy that Alan sold me, the one I had been paying for for 3 years, did not actually cover me at all. I have no words for the amount of incompetence involved here. Alan left me and my family completely exposed and has no business being in charge of anyone’s livelihood.

I think the most effective way to review my experience attempting to get workers comp insurance through Alan is to bullet point the facts:

June 5th - I had a phone call with Alan and he agreed to help me find coverage. I sent Alan all of the information he asked for in order to shop for a policy via email shortly thereafter.

June 7th - I sent a follow up email to check in. Alan said everything was good and he should hear back from some carrie in a few of days.

June 15th - I had not received any follow up from Alan so I sent a short follow-up email requesting a status update.

June 19th - I called Alan’s office during the office hours stated on his website. I had to leave a voicemail saying I was following up to check on the status of my inquiry.

June 24 - It has been 19 days since I sent Alan the information he requested and 17 days since he has reached back out.

As of June 26th Alan McDaniel has never followed up to let me know whether or not he could find the coverage I was looking for.

I recently worked with Alan to get a quote for my company insurance, and I must say that I have never had felt more valued. Through a review of my previous insurance he was able to find areas where I was underinsured and made sure that me and my company were protected. I had a lot, and I mean A LOT, of detailed questions and he was incredibly responsive, honest and knowledgeable through the whole process. Needless to say I highly recommend giving Alan a call. I know I feel more secure with him and his agency on my side.

UPDATE: Since signing up for commercial insurance with Alan there have been multiple issues. The first being that autopay was never setup even though I filled out all the paperwork for it and it was submitted. It was a mess to try and get simple auto pay established. Upon finding out this was never setup, I called Alan who I worked with personally to setup my insurance. Through email and phone, he never once responded. Lastly, come to find out items that were supposed to be included in coverage were never included. All email exchanges said they were in there, but upon reviewing our policy we discovered they were not. This has been disappointing to say the least. At this point with a lack of response and oversight I wouldn't recommend.

I have known Alan in different business settings and have always known him to be of high integrity and character. He is truly in his element owning his own business as a Farmer's Agent. Alan not only provides a customer intimate experience with optimal insurance solutions for each client but he is also sensitive to peoples' and businesses' budgets. He works very hard as an outstanding advocate for his clients and I recommend Alan to any one or business. His knowledge and caring is second to none for this customers.

Alan is wonderful at covering everything you may need for your specific situation without being pushy or overselling. Great overview of different policies and takes the time so you understand. I'd recommend Alan to anyone who is new to the insurance world (first time home/auto owners etc.). Very professional, polite, and accommodating.

I was a customer of Paulette Lanz for over 10 years. This guy took over her clients when she retired in Sept 2017 and I have had nothing but problems with this gentleman ever since. Since he took over my polices both of my rates Auto & Home have increased by over 10% I without any prior notice or communication my rates were changing so your stuck either finding someone new ASAP or just sucking up and paying what he says. When I asked for explanations I get rude and vague responses by phone and email. Make sure you email communications. He exaggerates by phone. He gave me crappy insurance for an outrageous rate. I have filed complaints with the BBB and Farmers. This gentleman has zero customer service skills and does not value a loyal customer. If you have a mind of your own and ask questions, this agent is not for you. Buyer Beware Use the Farmers website and call a few agents from there, you will find better people willing to actually put in effort to find you good insurance, reasonable rate, and treat you with respect.

The person who posted the business response would like for you to think there were "specific issues" attached to my increase in rates but is a complete falsehood. He tried to give me "reasons" why and I did go as far to check these out by calling farmers directly. It was not true. Upon removing my policies from this agent and transferring them to another agent, it was discovered I was under insured in most areas on my auto and home and paying a lot for coverage. I am so glad I got my policies away from Mr. McDaniel. These readers deserve to know the truth and to know that they should be cautious when dealing with this person. He may not do it to very customer, but he definitely took advantage of me. He ruined a ten plus year relationship Ms. Lanz had built in a matter of months. I wish his firm the best and hope he can review this incident, learn a life lesson from it, and move forward. I have. Good luck to you Mr. McDaniel.

Alan worked tirelessly for me. My car was totaled and he not only was empathetic while I was stressed out, he stood tall in contacting everyone on every layer of the claim process. This is the guy you want on your side.
