I am not confrontational AT ALL, but after reading these reviews I see I am not alone.
Unfortunately, I lived in my house for 8 years and it was horrible. Couldn’t afford to flee! The biggest issue was the owner who wanted certain things to fall completely apart before fixing such as a fence in 10 or 11 different parts for 7 years. I was told it would be fixed when I moved in.
As far as FCR, there are too many things to list but the most severe is the fact that for the last 2-3 years the foundation caused MASSIVE cracks in two ceilings…massive! The driveway was sinking in and making it a literal hazard to walk on. I started sending maintenance requests and nothing happened…they disappeared. Finally Jerri came and looked and said it was cosmetic. Every person, plumber, air conditioning guy, realtor friends, construction workers etc said the house was falling apart…never once was it looked at professionally.
My water heater burst in April and leaked into the wall,I was told by the guys to have it checked. I requested someone come to make sure mold wouldn’t grow. CANCELED was stamped on my request…never looked at.
Lastly, their pick of vendors are often atrocious. I don’t know who chooses the warrant company, but they sent a man out 3 times to fix my door which allowed rain to come in and soak the floor. He also “painted” the rotted chimney and door by painting over the rotten wood.
The dishwasher was broken and crooked almost the entire time and the plumber said my daughter had obviously jumped in the middle of the door and broke it!!! A 10 year old girl!!!
Bottom line here folks….look no further than how they are talking to people!!! Telling them to shut up!!! You can expect the same for me soon enough.
If they talk to you this way in public imagine the customer service if you are locked in to a lease!

Update- your response is not true. From all of the reviews it’s easy to see I am not the only one that has experienced this. Bad business. To this day still now call and I am qualified.

Would not recommend period! I called this week to look at a property for lease as I travel for work and going to be in Plano for sometime. The lady that took my call was less than professional and was very judgmental. The questions she was asking such as well do you make enough money? What are you going to do with the house you own in Sugarland? Well what is your credit score. I felt very judged and as I was being discriminated against. She said she would call me to look at the house and never did. Just to mention I make plenty of money, have a good credit score and can do what I want with my other house I own. I want the investors that hire this company to know how they act and that they missed out on someone that was very interested in renting their property. This will not be the last time you will be hearing from me. Thanks!

DO NOT use First Choice Realtors. They are awful!!!
They get zero stars, in fact, negative stars.
Leigh Ann Loveland is a terrible property manager. She is berating, harrassing, manipulative, talks in circles, blames everything on the tenant, completely unprofessional. By the end of our lease we couldn't even speak with her on the phone. We had to have everything in writing. She tries to scare and make tenants fearful. We once went 2 months with only one working bathroom. We lived in our home 6 years and she is trying to charge us for painting and other normal wear and tear items. DO NOT use First Choice. We are posting this as a warning to other tenants. We don't want anyone to go through what we went through with her. She should be FIRED, immediately! Legal action is being taken against this company right NOW. In addition, previous tenants have taken First Choice to court and won judgments in their favor against unlawful charges. Don't ever use them!!!

Do not use this company. You will be promised things prior to move that won’t happen. Get EVERY conversation with Leigh Ann in writing. When she doesn’t follow through and you list them on your move in sheet after signing, she will claim things were never discussed in the first place.
Notice a fire hazard? Like a metal object stuck in an power outlet from the last tenant? I was told it wasn’t a fire hazard and the maintenance request was ignored. Luckily I know an electrician (not his job but he fixed it so that my family would be safe)
Air conditioner not working? They will tell you to “YouTube the instructions on how to fix your thermostat” luckily I knew someone who could fix it (not their job but they helped us out so that my family wouldn’t be without air)
Dishwasher not working? Figure it out because maintenance won’t come. (Money out of our pocket)
Microwave go out? Good luck. I refuse to purchase one. I’m giving them a chance to make something right. The request was filed the first week of August and It’s almost November and we are still waiting. They did contact a vendor this time but it was never fixed because WE didn’t follow up on the issue. It’s always our fault. Even though we sent the vendor the requested information for the appliance. Isn’t that following up?
Fence damaged from storms & your neighbors become irritated? We were told “You should try finding the boards and nailing them back on.” The fence was not going to be fixed by doing that. It is now held together by a bungee cord. My neighbors love that.
Another fence fall over after a storm? They sent someone to lean it up against a tree and called it fixed(pictured) Neighbor #2 is now irritated.
Shed roof torn up after storms? They said they “weren’t worried about it.” But I bet I lose money when we move out because it’s damaged, even though they “aren’t worried about it.”
The house was dirty upon move in. When asked when it would be cleaned I was told that “cleaning is subjective” (1 of many nasty air vents pictured) I am definitely not cleaning when I move out since cleaning is “subjective”

The last tenant had painted the house and paint was everywhere (baseboards, floors, etc.)She said “the landlord will more than likely want to paint the entire house because he would have never approved this” I kept complaining & they agreed to send someone but only for patch work (better than nothing, right?) He painted 1 baseboard the color of the wall(brown) even though all of the other baseboards in the room were white. (Pictured- some baseboards currently)
When we met to sign the lease, we also discussed the dead plants left from the hard freeze last year. Leigh Ann said “those plants are diseased & the landlord will want the landscapers to remove them” later she said things weren’t ever discussed. Since then, she demanded that we pay to have those plants removed because the HOA was going to fine them.
We are expected to fix and pay for everything. Why rent?
Fridge stop working? Too bad… They don’t handle that so you’ll just need to buy and new one or pay to get it fixed.Fine, but they better not expect me to leave my new fridge here when I move out.
Now there is water leaking in my daughter’s room when it rains… Do I even bother putting in a maintenance request? Seems pointless.
When asked why things weren’t getting repaired we were told over the phone “Well.. The owner is already out so much money from that house…”
Why is that our fault?
Now she’s saying she never knew about most issues.
They sure are quick to tell you to fix your blinds though. That’s much more important than safety & basic necessities while renting. At this point, my blinds will be fixed when everything I’ve requested is fixed (because I agree, that is on us)
We’ve rented for 6 years through various companies & have never had any issues. In fact, we always get our entire deposit back because we take great care of our house. I never thought I would be someone leaving a nasty review but I feel that it is necessary. Don’t believe me? Read other reviews… I wish I would’ve.

My husband and I recently relocated to a 55+ community and we paid all fees did everything that was asked of us. We were expecting to be taken care of by our property manager.

About a month after moving in our bedroom closet florescent light went out and we bought a new one and tried to replace but the ceiling was too high so we ask property mgr if they could come and install it and were told it would cost them too much money and for us to go buy a ladder. We moved cross country and didn't bring a ladder. So we lived with having our bedroom light serve as closet light.

A couple weeks later our kitchen faucet was leaking enough we had to turn water off and they sent a handyman to fix. While he was here I was telling him about the bedroom light and did he have a ladder we could borrow. He was nice enough to replace the light but only 1 of the lights worked because he said it was a broken ballast not the bulb.

Last week we noticed our front lawn was flooded and turning the sprinklers off didn't help but the gardener looked at it and said it wasn't a sprinkler but a main line and he called the OWNER and they came right away and said he would have us taken care of immediately. When we hadn't heard from anyone in a few hrs I requested a maintenance request through property mgr portal. We were told First Response plumbing would be contacting us. I called the plumber and ask about a time frame and got a voicemail. The following day property mgr told us if we didn't hear from plumber we would be 1st client Monday morning . This made us 3 days so far without water. We have been carting 3 gallon water bottles from our neighbors hose and have had to eat out cause we couldn't cook. I called plumber at noon on Monday and was told they're on the way and they arrived at 3:30 and told us they couldn't fix today and couldn't be here the next day. That will make us 5 days w/out water. I contacted prop mgr and was told she couldn't control the weather and there was nothing in our lease for compensation for our troubles. They evidently don't have a plan B in place for emergencies! We finally had water Thursday evening after 6 days without water! How would they handle a senior that wasn't able to cart water or a single mother who is unable bathe and cook for her kids for 6 days? If rent is being paid on time then the property mgr should be compensating tenant for the days without water and increased water bill. What else do they provide except taking rent each month

I wish I would’ve read all the reviews before leasing through this company. All the negative reviews are 100% accurate. If you want proof, look no further, see how every time the owner replies, there’s always an excuse, never an apology. That’s exactly what it’s like to deal with them. I leased from them for 1 year and within a few months I wanted to pull the plug. We ran into the person that leased our property before we did, and they warned us that FCR was terrible to work with. All the neighbors in the block, warned us about how many issues that property has had. And everyone, including the reviews, were right. LeighAnn is the absolute worst. I’ve never had such terrible customer service interaction in my life. She must have some sort of relationship with the owner, because anywhere else she would’ve gotten the boot. At one point they accidentally forwarded me an internal email, where they talked ill about us, for reasonably asking that come out to do a maintanace repair. If you need anything fixed, they take forever. They make you do as much work before sending someone out. We rented a property that flooded several times, and each time it was the same issue, and each time they made us jump through hoops. At one point we went without water for almost a month. The AC broke during summer, we waited a month with the house at 100° before they fixed it. The list goes on. If you need to rent, find somewhere else. After our lease was up we found another house, and the customer service interaction was day and night in comparison. I am so happy to have moved. I bet there will be a response from FCR shortly with a list of reasons why they have no fault in all the miserable interactions we had with them.

This is the absolute worst management company I have EVER dealt with. LieghAnn Loveland is the nastiest piece of work I have EVER had to deal with. She is demeaning and confrontational. She also lies every chance she gets. DO NOT and I REPEAT DO NOT lease any home that is managed by this company! You will regret it. I know I am.

EDIT: Leigh Ann is the daughter of the owner. So, she is never leaving the company. Don't walk, RUN away from this horrible business.

I am not sure why people are saying mildly bad things about LeighAnn. She is absolutely 10 times worse than what is being said here. Extremely unprofessional in her demeanor with potential tenants. I hope the landlords know what damage she is causing to their viable properties. She must be a relative or friend with benefits at First Choice because I don't see why else they would want someone like her on their payroll. The other people here are well-mannered so they are not cut from the same cloth. Too bad. Just call the landlord and let them know!

EDIT: Nov 11/21 - Response to Jerri - Yes, this is an alias account so my name is different. However, we severed our relationship with First Choice because of LeighAnn - one of the best decisions we have ever made. At this point, there is nothing that can be done on your end. The landlord was way more helpful in resolving our issues and actually treated us as human beings with dignity and intelligence enough to talk with us. If you see the litany of complaints on here, they are all referencing one person. I believe your efforts will be better spent on dealing with her. Thanks for the response.
