If you love your family or yourself, DO NOT MOVE HERE. The A/C system does not cool down the home (okay I understand homes are old). They do not provide fire extinguishers (Texas law, they should be provided). The second a tenant moves out, a tenant is moving in. They don’t care to shampoo the carpets, scrub the walls, NOTHING. I had to the pick the previous tenants boogers off this entire place & scrub feces off the walls in the bathroom. Drains are covered in black mold. As a pregnant woman, it’s harmful to be breathing in such fumes. Let’s get the best for last, the dishwasher caught on fire!!! Mind you, the dishwasher has never been used by my family. My pets could’ve been hurt. Would’ve been nice to have a fire extinguisher to extinguish the flames but again, housing does NOT provide the fire extinguisher. I am beyond scared for the safety of my family, myself & my unborn baby. I’ve never lived in such careless military housing. Save yourself the trouble & live off base if possible.

*Edit* As if the housing can’t get any worse. My husband & I noticed bugs coming from the restroom drains. We are clean individuals so we thought cleaning more excessively would help out. We were wrong. There are WORMS coming from the drains. I have photos & videos to prove it. I do not feel comfortable bathing our newborn baby in these conditions. I’m so fed up. We even got the house exterminated this past summer. I still stand by my statement.

*Edit x2*
Like I mentioned before, as if the housing can’t get any worse. It all began when we noticed the floorboards in the kitchen were bringing up water from beneath our feet (Photo included below). We had no idea how it was happening. All you would have to do was stand in the kitchen for 5 seconds & you were instantly surrounded by a puddle. That same water coming from the floor boards attracted gnats. Our home was infested with those disgusting gnats so badly. The windows were covered in a blanket of gnats especially the kitchen window. The maintenance man told us they were coming from the drains & to “throw bleach down the drain” which should fix the issue. It didn’t. We had to take matter into our own hands & rid of the bugs ourself. These nasty bugs were found dead & alive all over our dinnerware, cups, mugs, baby’s bottles, etc. The photo below is just ONE plug in full of gnats. We have other plug ins everywhere else. we called maintenance & they said the reason the kitchen floor boards are wet was because a leak coming from the upper floor bathroom, leaking down the walls & into the kitchen floor. They “fixed” the issue by patching up the leak & blowing fans into the ceiling for over 48 hours. Day 2 rolls around, with one single flush of the toilet, the leak we were unaware about before, came back but 10x worse. There’s used toilet water all over the carpet and flooring. We have a newborn, it is insanely toxic to be breathing in fumes from dirty toilet water that have now been dumped all over the carpet. Now we have to leave our home we pay rent in to go stay in a hotel for the sake of our family’s health. It’s so nerve wracking & frustrating all these issues keep showing up. Is it going to be another 48 hours we are going to have these ridiculously loud fans in the house? I’m so tired of this, if everything wasn’t so stupid expensive we would’ve been gone from here. All I ask is for these people to hear us out & properly repair these issues for us or the next tenants. This is our first time living in Angelo & we’ve had the worst experience by far. I would do anything to move to a new apartment or the military townhomes down the road. I am simply at my wits end..

This is by far the worst experience I have ever had with housing. The "houses" are squalorous beyond belief and these people running it are basically scammers. They charged us so much money moving out, and I sincerely don't know you people sleep at night knowing that you are responsible for such a travesty. Our total charges probably exceeded the property value of this miserable cinderblock section 8 hut, the mortgage of which has been paid over 300 times these last 8 decades since they were built. You people should be held responsible for how you treat military members, and shrugging your shoulders and blaming someone else like "higher ups" isn't a valid excuse. You lied about the carpet and said you wouldn't charge us but a cleaning fee, then charged us anyway and I signed that contract under duress from your bait and switch maneuver you pulled on move out day, then you lied about how much we would owe and that it was covered under BAH and we owed 500 dollars, and then it actually wasn't, and we owe 1800, then didn't bother to tell us that btw until we were in collections. As a civilian now, I will never accept anything like this to happen to me and my family in the future. I will never allow myself to be taken advantage of financially ever again. I hope that one day somehow us military members see you held accountable for your chiseling, pilfering, and wicked ways.

EDIT:

I was told that someone would reach out to discuss all this, and saw they replied in this thread. Then I got one phone call and when I answered they hung up. When I tried to do the legwork to find out who called me, I was told that Ruby would be calling me back, it's been weeks of trying to get a hold of this community director to discuss my concerns and they have ghosted me. I have called at least 4 times, but the community director is unavailable. Thanks guys! Really raising the bar and setting the standard for excellence. We appreciate your due dilligence. Negative 5 stars.

We are living in the concho pearl housing neighborhood. And it is by far the most disgusting place we have lived. There is a cockroach infestation in these houses. And I know I’m not the only one because other people are complaining of all kinds of bugs showing up all the time. The fact that they would allow us to live in these conditions is absolutely horrendous and says a lot about their character. We are killing at least 1-2 cockroaches a day. And I’ve had them come spray multiple times. I’ve never felt so nasty in my lifetime. This place is my own personal hell. And we cannot wait to get out of here. I’m not saying it’s completely their fault. The people that need to come here and fix these homes need to do it. They should be spending the money to at the very least give us livable housing. SMH the military is out here wanting us to sign our lives away and they give us this kind of living and expect us to be okay with it. If I could make sure the right people are seeing this to make a change I would but unfortunately they probably won’t even care. So at the very least o am warning anyone who is given the concho pearl housing to stay FAR AWAY from it. Furthermore we are a family of 4 living in a two bedroom house and they are giving single soldiers 3 bedroom homes like make it make sense. They definitely favor Air Force here so if you’re another branch coming here you are not the favorite child.

I would love to highlight the customer service I received from Alice from the Hunt housing. I been working with her for 6 month’s now and I had so many questions and concerns regarding my pcs move. From the beginning to now, Ms.Alice Rivera has been patient, understanding, super helpful, always providing great service and exceptional customer service care. I was very impressed by the amount of information she provided me. We are an Army family and must say this has been the most smooth transition during our pcs. She kept my family updated on my housing request and I wanted to write this compliment/review for anyone coming here and may feel lost or need assistance.

Thank you Alice for all you do and going above and beyond for assisting me with all my concerns.

I have lived in three different military housing communities and this is by far the worst one.

Let me start with the heat in my childrens room. I made multiple complaints and all they did was replace the shade and tell me to get black out curtains (which I already had in their room). My kids room got to over 85 degrees and that's with the AC full blast and fans running. One of their maintenance techs said its a structural issue with the homes causing the problem. However, they (housing) will not authorize window units even in 115 degree heat.

2nd, move out inspections instructions are vague. We were told it wouldn't be a white glove inspection which is false because that's totally what they did. Also, they expect your trash to be empty before your inspection which makes no sense when you're in the middle of moving. We got charged for trash cans being full. This office is money hungry and takes advantage of service members and their families. Despicable.

Standard for military housing. Move in was horrible. They must gave me the keys without showing the house and I had to put in around 30 work orders day of. Good news is they fixed almost every in a timely fashion. The staff is friendly everytime we have dealt with this and maintenance is out to the house quickly.

Echoing Bethany's review, if we could give Hunt 0 stars we would. Easily the worst base housing I've seen in my 11 years. The staff here are super rude and pretty wildly incompetent. I don't know how Vicky still has a job with the way she talks to people. Be sure to have them pull up the carpets before you move in so you can take pictures. They will certainly do it on the way out, charge you for replacing carpet that you likely didn't ruin, then refuse to show you any evidence that you damaged it. Pipeliners, you can get a better apartment right out the North gate for 2/3 the price, and keep the difference. I would seriously recommend looking off base and avoiding these clowns at all costs. You will be glad you did.

If I could give this housing office a zero star rating, I would. Worst experience we’ve ever encountered with base housing. Base housing would not accommodate my family and I after being on their list for seven months. Additionally, the employees are extremely unprofessional. You’ll be lucky if you hear back from them at all.
