(Miramontes)I was really saddened that I got denied because of my credit history due to an unpaid balance from more than 6yrs. My 2 daughters and I are still unhoused. Due to a traumatic situation for us about our past landlord. When I went in for the pre interview it was nice, I literally explained my housing situation but I guess being homeless is not the problem of getting accepted, that don’t matter. Credit matters most instead of putting a roof over a family in need. I wish they really can change a few things about credit. Honestly thought low income or affordable housing would help me do to me being low income.

The team at HIP Housing is incredibly caring and very innovative. This is the most efficient form of housing creation on the Peninsula. They take great care to match clients so you can feel comfortable leasing a room in your home or participating in their program. Make sure when you are applying for HIP Services that the caseworker gives YOU the 411 on the elderly room mate and how many tenants that elderly has had with a 6th or 12th month. For your safety HIP does not and will not disclose if the person has mental or medical issue until its too late.

I signed uo with the place and I get a call after a month or so from a person who is wanting $2500 to move into a sleeping room in a condo off of Norfolk just n san mateo. I cant even bring people over the lady tells me and im like "uh no."

Unbelievable how HIP can refer people who want so much for a room to move in?

What type of service is this? I was told that thus was a good organization but I havent received much help at all yet.

There is 1 person ONLY that does EVERY SINGLE INTAKE and if she doesn't personally like you then you NEVER GET ANY ASSISTANCE FROM THEM!!!!

If you try to make a complaint about your experience, you are told that there is NO ONE TO COMPLAIN TO BECAUSE THEY ARE A NON PROFIT SO THEY ANSWER TO NO ONE!!!! And then they black ball you from getting any services EVER!!!!

So...if you want to file a complaint against them you can try writing emails to each of their board members so at least they know how they are runnimg their business! A list of them can be found if you google Hip Housing's site!

Nobody should be above the law and treat ppl like this because they "think" they are!!!---DISGUSTING!!!!!
