I am on the transfer waiting list. And, last I checked there was 3 people ahead of me. I went there yesterday 11/5/24 to see where I was on the list hoping that I was next to get a transfer. I signed in on the 2nd floor and went downstairs to wait for my name to be called. I didn’t have to wait long. A lady took me in her office that seemed to want to help me and her co-worker interrupted her and began talking to me harshly. She said that my transfer was optional and that I was going to be skipped over. She said my reason for transferring to a different location wasn’t as bad as the other people reasons. I tried to express myself but I was hurried out of the office and I was told to have a nice day! It’s me and my 36 year old autistic son residing at a place where residents are harassing me. They dumped out food on our porch. I can’t put flowers on my porch because they get kicked over. They throw trash down everyday to make it look nasty and cluttered in front of my apartment. I had to report bones that were scattered underneath me and my son’s windows. I put in a complaint and the maintenance man said it looked like a pet cemetery. Somebody put a cross made of two big sized sticks in the ground by my front door and a maintenance worker got rid of it. They bring dogs to my door and my bedroom window and makes them bark! Someone brought a Cujo dog on my porch and the barks sounded something serious!! it wanted to rip someone into shreds! I don’t know who’s doing these things because there’s no cameras on the property. My car was vandalized, someone stole my laundromat quarters out of the cup holder, ($7 worth). I can’t wash clothes on the property because the last time I did someone put a dirty mop head in the dryer with my clothes. I want a transfer from my residence and I thought I would get one but the lady at Jacksonville Housing Authority said it’s going to be a long long time before I get a transfer out of here. I’m 67 years old and I am chronically ill. I was supposed to have been transferred from this place every since before 2017 back when my son with autism came to live with me but instead of giving me my transfer they rigged up the abandoned office in the lobby area and put me and my son there. They didn’t care what I thought about it and they didn’t ask me! And, I went along with the program not knowing that my future in the office/apartment would consist of used toilet paper dropped on my porch. I reapplied for a transfer. I wrote a letter pleading for a transfer!! And, I got a letter back that said I was approved. I’m even on the waiting list for section 8 housing. I been on that list for over 4 years!! I want my transfer. I’m a sitting duck where I live now. I am at the mercy of anyone who wants to intimidate me and my son. There’s no cameras to catch them. I was treated so rudely at the housing authority over on Broad Street yesterday, I had to fight back tears. Those workers didn’t have one ounce of empathy, care or respect for me. I was booted out of there faster than I walked in and set down. ?

I got selected for public housing in begining of july! I rushed to get everything submitted and done. They told me i would get housing within 90 days. When i call they are very disrespectful, they cut you off when your talking and make you feel less than. If you dont like your job as a case worker or someone who helps people get housing dont work there. This is ridiculous

I'm porting in from North Carolina, I worked with Ms. Paxton yesterday and she was able to help ease my family's fears of being homeless and get my inspection scheduled. She was very patient and kind and that is much appreciated coming from out of town.

I have been calling Jax HUD for 3 days trying to get help with annual recertification with no answer and no callback. Severely frustrated, I tried to call one last time before driving to your office for help. FINALLY, a human answered the phone, Ms. W. Watson! And she helped me. She stayed on the line to make sure I had the right information. Not only that, but she treated me with such kindness despite my frustration and anger.
Supervisor, please give her a raise and promotion because she is an asset to your organization.

All I'm going to say is that I can't accuse all but I can accuse the one whom is very unprofessional. Majority of them counselor are rude, unhappy with there work environment, and overwhelmed with caseload. Whoever that is in charge to create some type of outlet for there employee to reduce there stress levels. Those people are exhausted an it cause for them to be insensitive to the clients an once the clients react to there behavior it causes issues for them because of the rudeness then they want to issues violations which is unfair to the clients.
