Our visit was pleasant at the Leon County Tax Collector. The receptionist was polite and friendly. I do recommend making an appointment it's seem to be a lot easier then just walking in. Appointments are priority! They should call the customer names by first or last name. Some of the staff members were calling by the first name and some were calling the customer by their last name. However, we didn't know what to expect when it came to our names being called. They were also calling first or last name very fast, one time only. I would give them 3 stars because of the wait of 45 minutes or more. I will recommend station 11, the gentleman who took care of us was very helpful and polite. Very professional too.

I called the tax collector's office on 2/7/25 at approximately 1:21PM in hopes of getting assistance with my vehicle affairs. Unfortunately, I was assisted by a representative named Jackie, who at the start of the call, was very condescending, assumed she had the answers to my questions before I could even ask the question, talked over me, and had no desire to help in any way. Without even pulling up my information, she provided me with incorrect information which she had to backtrack after finally deciding to ask me for my license plate number. It was not the experience I was hoping for, but after 13 minutes of being spoken to like an adolescent, I grew frustrated and asked for her supervisor's name. She informed me that her name was Shebra, but at that point, I had no desire to continue the conversation, and I felt strongly that the supervisor would not have been any help either. This is NOT the first time I have experienced or heard that the tax collector's office has treated customers this way. While I feel that Doris Malloy is an incredible leader in this community and this should not directly reflect her leadership in any way, it does raise the question on whether or not their staff is properly trained in soft skills and empathy while working with the general public. As a hard-working, tax paying professional, it concerns me that my dollars are being paid to individuals who simply DO NOT CARE and will make it very clear in their interaction.

I have always had great experiences here. Today, I watched a staff member be incredibly rude to a gentleman who spoke Spanish. She told him the office did not have time to help him since he speaks Spanish. There were only 2 people waiting... Beware if you are served by the middle aged white woman with brown hair you may be berated or denied services if you do not speak English. I would never recommend this location.

Metropolitan office is in disarray. Online peeps all agree that the Lake Jackson and South Monroe offices are much better

It would be nice if we could all plan our lives based on appointments. If you need ANYTHING from this office on the same day, be prepared to wait up to 3 hours. The system they use is absolutely ridiculous. They have 13 windows, but can’t dedicate one window for walk ups I came in at 10:30 and was 5th in line for walk ups. It is now 12:45 and I’m still waiting. I’m a patient man, but come on. Everyone has their limits. Half of the windows are now closed as people have gone to lunch. It’s going to be a process that is going to take 3 hours just to get an electronic title printed. Unbelievable!!

Our support (votes) should go to people who want to make positive changes. I will be reaching out to Ms. Malay’s office to see if there are any positive changes on the way.

This office is not functioning in an efficient manner. Just like stores, they are using things they instituted during Covid to provide extremely sub par service. Embarrassing actually

To receive services, one must make an appointment. No walk ins. That seems weak for a relatively small county, but OK. The next available appt is over one week away, and one can only make an appt within a two day window. Beyond that, the system will not allow appts. Wow. I was just looking to get something simple done. That is really poor service, but not out of the ordinary for this office. It's always a battle getting things done there. And forget calling to make an appt. The person answering the phones made it clear they resent you calling and asking questions.

This used to be a walk in facility but now you need an appointment. Without an appointment you can wait for hours. While waiting as a walk in, I watched other walk in get called before myself. I also watched worker personally call up a woman that I assume was a walk in. Watched walk in just walk up to counter to be waited on. See workers get done with an individual go and walk around and talk to other workers....with a full waiting room. It used to be you get a number when you walk in and was waited on accordingly. Now, if you want to be seen, you have to schedule an appointment a week out.

Went here to submit documents for passport. Service was excellent and seamless! Went around 9 am so I didn’t have to wait in a long line.

Rude, very standoffish entry clerk. Says walk-ins are welcome and to expect a wait which I was willing to do so. This establishment wasn't busy at all, but the clerk refused to allow anyone to wait to be seen and only offered appointments that were days out. I refused and drove a little further to the Southside location and was seen within minutes.
