The office is set up and run with great efficiency. My wife and I had appointments at 9am and 10am respectively; our son had to get his first ID card as a newly celebrated 16 year old. We arrived just before 9 and were all seen and served by 10am. The ladies we worked with were professional, courteous and caring. They were knowledgeable about the ins and outs of the process. Thanks to the entire office for being so thoughtful and informative. And the icing on the cake was the sweet old lady at check-in, Ms Sue. They all made our experience really really enjoyable. Thanks to the Leon County Tax Collector and her entire team!!🤩😊

The place was very quiet and clean. Reception person was polite. Super efficient and assisted people at their allotted time. Linda was great! She had a warm, welcoming smile and reminded me of people from my previous home state (Missouri). She was efficient in her time while taking care of my needs along with assisting a co-worker that had a couple of questions. I recently submitted my 2024 tax payment in two separate payments during the November 1-December 2, 2024 pay period. Because I did not include a partial payment form the second payment check (received by the tax office on 11/29/24) was returned to me. The initial check (received 11/18/24 by the tax office) was LOST only later to find out that it had been sent to the WRONG tax payer. Because the tax office had NO record of ever receiving the initial payment, I put a stop payment on the $1,249.21 check. The stop payment cost me $20.00 by my bank. A few days later the LOST initial check was sent to me from the Leon County Property Tax office with the property information of the WRONG tax payer that it was sent to. When I contacted the tax office to complain about the LOST check and my cost to stop payment they refused to reimburse me DUE TO THE poor tracking of information received in their office. All I got was “sorry”.

There is only ONE person that sorts property payments for ALL the homes in Leon County so any error by the Tax Office is PAID by the homeowners of Leon County and this is UNACCEPTABLE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.‼️ DO BETTER

This office is small, but very efficient. I made an appointment online, they took me a couple of minutes early! Sasha was so friendly & efficient, very knowledgeable as well.

If you don't know, review the official document. If you can't find the answer, ask your supervisor. That is the advice I have for the employees here and to any employee actually.

On two occasions, the women I met told me how long they had been doing this job and I couldn't tell them how to do their jobs. On the first, she insisted I needed another document from Copart. I simply left and went to the Metro Blvd branch. The lady there went to ask her supervisor and returned to process my documents without requiring anything else.

The second case was on June 12, 2024 at window 10. She asked if I was a student or working full-time. I said the latter. Then she asked "where is your EAD?" I told her I was on H1B which is a form of work authorization without an EAD. She insisted that I present one. She kept insisting and told me she had been doing that job for 20/30 (don't remember which one) years. At a point I said "can you just listen to me." Then as I explained, she reached for a sheet of paper and appeared to be reading from it. Then she raised her head and asked "where is your passport? You have to present your passport." I asked her why she insisted on EAD all this while. To my surprise, she denied asking for my EAD and that I present my passport. So, again, I went to the Metro Blvd branch and all went well. Never again! Peace! I'm out!
