I have been a resident of local Lamar for about a 17 months. I must admit I don’t regret living here. I like the fact the building is quiet. I like how attentive the coordinator Specialist Tatiana is very attentive my needs as resident. I also like the manager she very nice and helpful with anything needed as well. I like how informative the company is overall when changes are happening to better the conditions that may be needed at a specific time through emailing the email on file. I like the fact the building is clean. No place is perfect I definitely like this place better than the than the last two residency I have lived at overall. Most importantly we have engineers who is very thorough. I couldn’t have chose a better place to live. I am residence in Hyde park.

Local by Laramar has been a great property management company overall. The staff team has been incredible to work with. I have appreciated Bonnie specifically who really has gone above and beyond for me when I need help or have questions. When issues have arise that require maintenance they are quick to respond and very detailed in their work. They have a wide portfolio of properties and provide a great living experience overall to their tenants.

Tatiana Himes, the Residential Service Coordinator, Is very sweet, patient, and helpful. The maintenance in the building is pretty much prompt and thorough with the work. I have never had to call about the same thing twice. They also keep the common areas really clean.

This review is for Titiana as my housing coordinator. She is amazing, she is responsive, patient, understanding. She is extremely professional and she is sure to address the need and concerns I have. She reminds me alot of the way things were almost 10 years ago. There have been way too many changes too count but she has a human touch and that speaks volumes. I hope she stays for the long haul.

I can’t express just how bad it’s been living here (801 W Cornelia). My first year (2021) was filled with many plumbing issues that ultimately led to the toilet overflowing through the ground & into the Halsted Smoke Shop below me. It ruined a lot of their product and I was so embarrassed. This issue persisted that first year.

Maintenance doesn’t provide updates when they do work, leaving you guessing in the limbo when & if they are coming to fix anything. They’ve left me with a non-working shower and a non-working toilet a handful of times, each incident lasting 2 - 3 days. It once got so bad I had to go to the complex’ office and air my grievances. Luckily, they reimbursed some rent money back due to how ridiculous they had been.

Trash valet has always been an issue with how infrequent they come. But the latest issue just recently happened. For most of April 2024, trash valet did not come get trash. It began piling up from my neighbor. On May 4th, I put in a 311 complaint, contacted the Alderman, emailed the complex (for what felt like the 1000th time), and posted on social media about this. About 2 hours after the 311 complaint…Local By Laramar sends out a complex wide email detailing how their former Trash Valet vendor wasn’t picking up trash correctly and that they hired a new vendor. And all of a sudden that day…all of the trash was gone. Strange right?

Literally don’t move to 801 W. Cornelia. You can do better, you deserve better. I only stayed here so long because trying to find another until in June/July is so difficult. I’m moving out in a month and I can’t wait. I am currently overlapping leases just so I wouldn’t have to deal with the madness of June/July apartment hunting.
