DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT rent at Capital Village. They are charging $900 per month for a dump. This location is roach infested, mildew infested, very old non-functioning appliances, half the time washer/dryer does not work. Place is very drafty and you will find yourself cold in the winter months as it is poorly insulated because cold air comes in through the cracks by the windows and underneath the door. Air conditioner/heater rarely works properly. You will be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Structure of the stairs are cracking; never know when it will one day collapse because of the condition. Potholes in the parking lot. Don’t bother renting here. And they have the AUDACITY to charge $900 for this? SMDH!

I will start this by saying it was fairly easy to find and rent a place under this leasing company, the call center and maintenance men were always kind and the neighbors were so friendly. It was a good location and affordable for anyone. I am truly glad to have had the opportunity to stay there before our stay had gone downhill due to the recent storms. I understand this is an old property and the issues that come with that. I also want to recognize that their help with the old AC unit during our stay was very hands-on and well addressed especially during high volume times.

However in the last couple months of living here, we had a mold issue in the attic due to ceiling leaks from the aforementioned tropical storms/hurricanes which we had immediately reported to the property owners. Despite us following the mold addendum in the lease with cleaning and also installing dehumidifiers, my posters and records warped and the paint on the walls was not sticking because of how filled with moisture the house was.
I do not say this to imply my property was damaged by them because that is not their responsibility, it is a joint effort between the tenant and landlord to maintain the home and I was as concerned about their walls as much as I was with my property. This is purely to show how severely the mold impacted their property and our stay.

Never once did they do a mold inspection for our maintenance requests about it and denied doing so.
After 2 months of waiting and no longer being able to stay in my bedroom for more than 10 minutes at a time due to mold symptoms, they took out one section of drywall in that bedroom that was covered in mold and that was all. Once replaced, water damage started staining through the repaired wall again within the week.

Once I compiled the attempted dates of contact to the property and symptoms experienced by residents regarding this problem, the company was swift to terminate our lease with no penalty to us which was a relief after all that we went through.

However, we have vacated as of October 2024 and they already put the house back on the market after only a paint job. I can only imagine how much mold may be in the ceiling from the living room to the first bedroom, it will spread unless addressed properly.

Once again, I do not hold anything against this leasing company but please do not rent out 2029 Desiree Ct for your own safety.

Unfortunately I thought this company would be better than my last leasing property, yet I was wrong. I make multiple calls to the office and no one answers. I have even went up to the office to find out that no one is even there. When I do leave a voicemail , it does not get returned. Their communication is very terrible and unprofessional. I even emailed the property manager and she does not respond to any of my emails.

They have answered all questions and and have taken care of maintenance issues as quickly as possible. They have a team that is eager to help.
I am a disabled veteran just moving into a home. And they have been nothing more than helpful and courteous.

Mold everywhere in the house we rented for my son, of course not knowing. He became sick after 3 days of moving in. Maintenance guy response promptly but it’s all fluff. The mold issues were never fixed. I have called multiple times and never get a live person. I leave a message and no one calls back. This company is a joke. After 9 months and many Teledoc visits, urgent care, sinus infections, he has Pneumonia. He wasn’t contagious and he barely got to walk at his graduation on May 3, 2024. I would highly Recommend not renting from this company. They’re basically a slumlord. I’m just praying that there’s no long-term effects for my son.

I have rented for the past year going on my second year now. Have had no issues and the maintenance guy is quick. The place is nice, roomy and a great price compared to all the other places in Tallahassee.
