This place is a terrible place to rent. Beware, James Meroli is a scam artist, purchased this rental less than a year ago, and cannot get himself together to organize anything about vacation rentals. I reserved 2 weeks for February 2023, paid my deposit by credit card $700.00. One month after deposit, incurred a medical event that prevented travel. Notified James of need to cancel with 3 months notice according to his free cancellation policy. He stated on phone 12/7/22 my deposit would be refunded with a follow up email that evening. I have contacted him by phone, email and text continuously from 12/7/22 till now 2/17/23. I have received NO RESPONSE from James Meroli the fake premier host. I called again to speak to his father Peter, who runs Mandalay Realty, and was told I was not getting any deposit money refunded. This is a scam artist perfected, he is keeping my $700, and I am receiving no goods or services from him. He totally ignored the Better Business Bureau’s multiple contacts and is receiving a poor rating with a warning to potential guests, from them accordingly. I visited this rental and found it to be dirty, cluttered, very run down, old dilapidated lounge chairs, with debris all over pool deck and in water. There are 2 pools the size of a hot tub and a half each. It is located in a questionably unsafe part of town. Saw people loitering in trucks parked outside the units. Beware of this scammer and I hope no other potential guest will be treated in this manner. Next is a police report of stolen money. Please do not stay here. His rating is no stars.

I cannot say enough amazing things about the host and area. My boyfriend and I stayed last august and loved it so much. It was super close to the beach and pier, but close enough to residential neighborhoods that it wasn’t loud and tourtisty. We plan on coming back this year because it honestly was the perfect place to vacation with amazing value for the small price. 1000000/10 for the area, host, amenities, and florida.

Great location, great rates & a very friendly & helpful host, Matt. We had an amazing time last month & the cottage was perfect for our family of 4. It was very clean & has all the amenities that u have at home, we didnt have to bring anything or buy anything except food!. We will definately be staying at Mandalay Rentals again on our next trip to Clearwater beach!

A very nice rental space right on the beach. Great price and right on Clearwater Beach. You could spend all your time here and never leave the island. Basically everything is in walking distance and super close to Frenchys.
