We have been in our house for less than two weeks and we are already having major issues with our new home. Do yourself a favor and spend your hard earned money on used home. The quality fit and finish is terrible. Our yard is full of weeds and dead grass. They use nothing but the cheapest materials and products. It's very unfortunate this has happened to us but I guess it's pretty typical in this day and age to get a sub-par product at a great expense. We hope that Maronda will fix these issues but I'm not holding my breath in fear of asphyxiation. Sigh.....

We moved in with a lawn that was totally dry. We were given numerous excuses and promises that it would be fixed. Its almost two months and no response or action. Although we have tried to contact Maronda by phone, email and even visited the sales office, we are still being ignored. We have been treating this inferior dried up grass from our expense. There are other issues with our house as well. Perhaps someone is waiting for legal action.

Buying our first new house has been a great experience, considering we have never owned new before. There were a few hiccups in the beginning but most of these issues I have fixed. I do have to say that the yard was very poorly designed and the berm they placed along the back side of my yard has collapsed and is now pouring dirt and water into my neighbors yard. This was mentioned during the first walk through, but we were told it is what it is basically. The next issue is that the punch out list where we took the blue tape and marked areas were never completed and even though it was brought to the attention at the second walk through right before closing, we were again promised that these items would be taken care of while we were at closing....never done. Now after 2 and a half months, we are still waiting on a kitchen cabinet door that was pre-drilled wrong for a handle and someone to get back with us about the flooding and collapsed berm issue in our back yard. The flooding issue has brought water into our back porch yet no one has reached out to us for a solution. After reporting a few other things and not hearing back from anyone, I decided to fix the issues myself. These issues included 2 outlets that didn't work, a septic pipe sticking way above grade that was broken, caulking that was either never done or half heartedly done, blinds on back porch doors that collapsed the first night in the house, roof drains that do not drain properly and hold an excessive amount of water, nails sticking out of the slabs in various spots, and the address numbers above the garage being off-centered by over five to 6 inches (also told nope, can't fix it, your stuck with it), amongst a few other things.
I give the sales team kudos for working with us throughout but the lead's/foreman/super's answer for some of the things we had issues with made it sound like he was telling us "oh well, you are stuck with it now". Very bad for business. I hope that the rest of our issues get resolved and that Maronda will reach out to us to get the said two items above fixed.

On a positive note, the house is beautiful and we do really enjoy our investment. I used to work construction so I know there are a lot of moving parts, and there will be small issues in the beginning. I just hope that service improves as we create the relationship with Maronda going forward.

Please read the reviews before going into business with Maronda. We went into contract with them without doing so. I’m Oct. 2021 my husband and I left a deposit when we went into contract for a new build. According to our loan officer and our realtor, the contract was contingent upon the sale of our home, except now they said they didn’t put that in the contract. Fast forward a bit, Nov. 2022 and we finally receive a closing date but we inform them that we have not sold our current home yet. Our loan falls through because it was contingent, meanwhile our current home is still showing. Maronda sells the new build, without us releasing the contract and cancelling it on our end. Not only have they refused to return our earnest, despite being protected by the contract and VA, but they are not answering any calls/emails from us. Please please beware of this company. They do not abide by their own contract and are extremely unprofessional. Buyer beware!!

The only reason Maronda Homes is receiving 1-star is because I can't give them zero. This company does not honor their contracts. Even though my mother passed away during the loan approval process and we had to leave town, we quickly provided the mortgage company everything they asked for in a timely manner. Eventually, we were denied loan approval because my husband was placed on medical leave.

The addendum to the contract clearly states that the buyer will receive a refund of the earnest deposit if they are denied the loan. The denial letter was sent to Maronda Homes along with the addendum that was signed by all parties and they still refused to refund our deposit leaving us to consult our attorney.

If you are looking for a home builder who will honor their contract, look elsewhere because Maronda Home doesn't. My husband is off medical leave now and we are still in the market for a home. We will NOT, under any circumstance, purchase from Maronda Homes.

Maronda homes has been the worst new home buying experience I, or anyone who I tell of the issues I have has since moving in, have had! I regret buying from Maronda. There are so many issues with the home, yet no one seems to want to answer their phones or let alone pick up a phone to call me. There are so many excuses as to why things on our “punch list” which was 2 pages long, are not being done! Warranty submitted work orders are not tracked properly, they can’t tell me who, what, when, where, not why. This is probably the worst business I have ever had to deal with. Lack of communication, responsiveness, poor home quality, and overall lack of care, is ridiculous. I tell anyone looking into this builder to stay away and not make the same mistake I did!

First off, let me start by saying Brooke Warner was a great to work with. She always kept us up to date on the process of our build and anything that went wrong. The whole initial experience before we moved in was great.

After we closed and moved in, our master shower got clogged by GLUE and wouldn't run hot water. Also, we noticed more things around the house that we didn't in our final inspection such as the corners of the walls cracking, the sliding glass door gets stuck on screws that are popping up from the track, the shower in the bedroom that required us to install a door/curtain, wasn't measured correctly by our builder either. I get that things happen after the homeowner moves in, and we have a year warranty to fix that, but get better contractors. We shouldn't have an issue with our NEW home within the first 2 weeks of living there. It shouldn't take several attempts of scheduling a service with the provided companies to come out and fix things. We don't take time off work for them to NOT show up!

Otherwise, we love our home. 🙂

I started a process to build a home with Maronda Homes. The sales Rep told me that communication is key and if by any chance something comes up and I wasn’t able to build the home anymore it’s no problem. Unfortunately, my family dynamic changed and my husband was without a job. I told the Rep as soon I know so I wouldn’t waste any more time and to make sure the process of building the house hasn’t started. I did already deposit 2,500 dollars. They refused to give me my deposit. They didn’t even start building the house and but they still refuse to give me back the deposit. The Rep then told me that she never said such a thing. They cannot be trusted. I will never do business with them. If I could give them zero stars I would. I lost 2,500 dollars.
