I was just at an Austin Properties HOA meeting today where Austin Properties (Angela Connell, VP) told me that I am responsible for repairs to my Centerpoint electric meter outside which cost me $2800. I now need to contact an attorney to interpret the by-laws which I think Austin Properties is misinterpreting. Angela Connell also insists that I submit an ACC for other exterior changes even though no one else in the history of our complex has ever been asked to submit an ACC. By logic, an ACC should not be required at a rundown complex (Bellfort Place is full of rotten wood, rust, with a collapsed fence ignored for years by Austin Properties). Therefore, any improvements should be welcomed. I then asked why the required annual meeting was not held in January. Marshall Sears said it’s because there were scheduling difficulties. So Austin Properties determines when by-laws can be ignored? In addition, Marshall Sears posted the 2025 annual budget on Town Square app, which is hardly used by the Bellfort Place owners. In the past, the budget was delivered with the coupon books. This is not being transparent. I used to be on the Bellfort Place HOA for a few years but I realized that Austin Properties operates as if we are living in the past. By-laws over 40 years old need to to be updated especially when companies like Austin properties ignores by-laws when convenient to them, and upholds by-laws that are useless and a hardship to owners. What is really needed is updated by-laws, a fair HOA board, and a good CPA. Austin Properties, and other PM companies, has proven to me that Property management Companies have become obsolete if their existence depends on 40+ year old by-laws.

Everyone is always so rude and have the worst attitudes when you go into the office. I made the mistake of not getting receipts/mailing in payments and somehow owe a huge amount in water fees. Anytime I try to make a payment I have to jump through hoops and am told to go through their attorney. When I ask for that information they won’t give it to me. They have made up lies about me as a tenant & have made it clear they do not want my family in their neighborhood. Hoa members have said rude & racist remarks & we’ve been constantly harrassed.

These guys are just Horrible we have complained at our Townhomes here to Austin but now they have just sent us owners here that whey are going to "terminate our contract" with them 31 Oct '24 with hardly any notice given to us just terrible. We have gotten a law firm on retainer now to represent us owners over this complete disaster we have had with them now for the last 3 years when they started getting bad!

Horrible property management company! I have never seen their presence on the property (after 4 years), and they have admitted, they make very few physical visits to the property. My question "how do you manage a property with semi-annual visits?" Reply "we handle request when someone sends communication when they have an issue." In conclusion the homeowners manage their own property, subdivision or neiborhood 365 days per year. Why would anyone need this property management company. Down-right LAZY!

I have been with Westhollow HOA as a resident for the past 3yrs.When I look at the low ratings I can understand why. The HOA fee was increased by 10% recently and some services have improved. But, for the past 6 months, the yard lights on the walkway have been off and need of repairs in certain areas of the property. Needless to say, this can be a safety hazard after hours.
I have gone through Austin Properties with this concern several times and they have referred me to the property service manager Mr. M.... Each time Mr. M... has told me that he has submitted a work order to the electrician for repairs, but the electrician has not responded to his emails. I find this difficult to fathom since the electrician is supposed to work for the HOA. If the electrical company is so busy, it would seem wise to locate a contractor who has time to make the needed repairs. (If this is the case).
Perhaps someone will have to be injured or an act of crime committed before the lights are repaired.
