Do not rent with Matchmaker Realty! I lived at Centerpoint for 3 years. I lived at the end of the right unit upstairs, so I only had an old man beside me, and one young man below me. Things were good for two years. Until the young man below moved out. They brought in another old man. INSTANT roach infestation. My next door neighbor got it too. We never saw a bug for the first two years I lived there. The pest control guy said only me and my next door neighbor called for pest control, not the man who caused it, so it’ll keep happening. I begged them to remove the man because I couldn’t live like this. They didn’t, so I suffered my last year there. Really sad that I had to leave my home because nothing will be done about roaches. I saw the man throwing food into the garden area at night numerous times. FOR MONTHS. When Jennie was at the property, I would show her pictures. One day she came, I walked her right to it in person. They sent out a little company email about it. I don’t know if they told him something personally, but they didn’t enforce it because he kept doing it FOR MONTHS right up to the day I left. Bread, pizza, rice, chicken, pots of unknown liquids etc. you name it. This was attracting LARGE roaches outside on top of the infestation I had inside. I had to throw away so many items that were just ruined by roaches. When I was moving out, I asked to do a walk through with them to ensure I got my security deposit. They said they “don’t do that”. They “only do it after you leave”. I know why now. I moved out of state, so I called at least 10 times for my security deposit. Kelly said oh it’ll be 15 days from your lease end date (I left 4 days prior to that date). Well, MORE than a month rolls around, Kelly doesn’t know what Jennie is doing with it. Jennie isn’t in the office. Etc. I moved out of state, that’s why I could only call. However, I finally visit Gainesville. Previously, I spoke to Tracy and said that I’d go get it in person if it’s not already in transit. She said that she’d call me by a certain time to let me know. She didn’t. I finally got in contact with Jennie, and she said she was at another property that day, so she doesn’t know what’s going on in the office. I’m livid. Coincidentally, it got sent the day that I threatened to pick it up in person. I kid you not, they were doing this because they were never planning on giving me a penny! I guess they assume people would forget. I left my apartment spotless! I left ONE little bag in the freezer that I meant to grab out the door, but I forgot. These people charged me $100 “to empty the fridge” (removing ONE bag!), and $100 to “clean the fridge”. What could they have had to clean from ONE bag?! The fridge/freezer was empty and spotless, beside the one bag I FORGOT. Personally get your carpet professionally cleaned like they recommend in the move out list (or they’d charge you for the service) because they’ll charge you $400 for the carpet! I wanted to leave ASAP, so that’s why I didn’t do it. I wish I did! It wouldn’t have been $400! I wish I hadn’t cleaned the cabinets, shelves, windows, sinks, toilet, shower, vacuum, removed all nails, empty and clean the fridge, etc. Clean the dead roaches and residue-that they did nothing about!- that I found while emptying my unit. I wish I left a huge mess for them to clean. I wish I didn’t clean a thing. I wish I left the things that I took to the dumpster- inside. Because they are thieves! They had the audacity to send me the letter I begged for just to say, HA we’re not giving you YOUR money out of spite. $600 security deposit: -$400 carpet-$100 to “empty fridge” ONE bag!-$100 to “clean fridge” ONE bag! $600-$400-$100-$100= $0. THIEVES. Don’t give them business unless you want roaches, and your security deposit taken!

Anyone else lucky enough to live next to a Matchmaker Realty delinquent? Trespassing again. How many times until I trespass him criminally?! I’ve given him many warnings. Let’s wait until he breaks another window? I’m in contact with GPD. Again, smh.

With the housing market on fire, or so I thought, I decided to sell my home by owner. I even had an ace in the hole, or so I thought. I paid a company to list my house on the MLS for $100. Next thing I know the housing market is cooling and I have almost zero interest. Luckily a friend of mine told me about his experience with Becky at Matchmaker Realty. I made the call and it was like I pushed the "Easy Button." Everything started happening and it started happening fast. Despite social media, 3 real estate websites, and physical signs on Newberry Road I was only attracting 1 or 2 viewers per open house. Becky was able to attract way more interest to her first open house then I had attracted in all of mine combined. To my excitement we had an offer and were under contract in weeks. My house just closed and I learned my lesson. I will never go it alone again. A professional realtor earns their commission and when you watch them work you understand why.

Choosing Matchmaker as my property management was, unfortunately, a decision I've come to regret. My experience with them was fraught with disappointment and frustration from the beginning. While I had initially been hopeful based on their promises, I quickly realized that their words rarely matched their actions.

The most glaring issue was their blatant dishonesty regarding my security deposit. I was initially assured that my deposit would be returned in full, given that I had met all move-out conditions and left the property in a pristine state. However, not only was the deposit not returned, but attempts to communicate with them about it were met with rudeness, evasion, and a palpable lack of transparency.

Repeated inquiries were either ignored or answered with vague and elusive responses, making it clear that there was no genuine intention to address the matter. It's incredibly disheartening to see a company operate with such a lack of integrity and respect for their clients.

For anyone considering Matchmaker for their property management needs, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere. Trust and honesty are fundamental in such relationships, and sadly, this company seems to prioritize neither.

Matchmaker Realty has by far been the most comprehensive and effortless partner we have ever had while buying and selling a home.
