So I’m not the person to post a lot of reviews, but I felt like I should shed some light about this management. First of all, they don’t care about you. Don’t spend your money to a place that does not take care of you. There was a week when I was living in their apartments in which hot water would not work. I would have to shower in cold water for a couple days. They honestly did not care and barely try to do anything about the situation. I tell them my situation, that I need to be showering everyday for work since I sweat and asked if they can accommodate for the situation. Said “we will turn on temporary hot water”, where was this hot water, I really like to know. Also, security deposit, they’ll try to drain you from your security deposit. Fixing a window lock is 100$, it was simply detached and I just lazy to put it back on and was charged 100$. It’s a simple fix. From their actions it tells a lot about their morals. Go somewhere else. Also look at the reviews down here and how they reply to the reviews. They aren’t genuine at all. Copy and paste.

I was so surprised at the fact that they 1) almost always answer their phones, and if not, call back promptly, 2) are very pleasant to deal with, 3) do what they say they are going to do, and 4) are very efficient. Emma is wonderful to work with and very patient. Andrew in the leasing office was ON IT, and I really appreciate his responsiveness. My son and his friends leased an apartment with them, and I can tell it’s going to be a great year!

I just moved in and it was one of the smoothest processes I’ve experienced! It was very easy and any questions or concerns I had were answered quickly and provided great help. Highly recommend meridian group!

Would definitely not recommend working with Meridian. I lived in one of their properties for 4 years. In that time, the whole 2nd floor had to deal with maggots where todd (Meridian landlord) said “it’s my day off,” black mold in bathroom & on the roof of outside walkways to which Both Todd & Schuyler (Meridian property manager) denied it was harmful and Schuyler actually said “humans need mold to live,” there is never parking & other tenants will vandalize your car and Todd will knowingly not do anything, the place was built so long ago that I’m convinced the mold is throughout the entire property. Nothing is fixed until you pester Todd for weeks about it. The laundry room gets infested with bugs regularly. There is so much more, I ended up having to use my lawyer & compile a photo album of all my proof because they attempted to keep my deposit after dealing with all of this.
21 days after vacancy I left a voicemail statement by it’s beyond the legal time frame to return the deposit and the said they mailed it that day. 2 days later, It came with $300 taken out & I fought for the rest with my lawyer due to what they had put me through. They said the revised check was sent out the SAME day as the first & that one was now void. 2 weeks later & nothing came so I had to go in person to pick it up. I know now they never sent the 2nd check because it never came. In person they were extremely disrespectful.

Schuyler was terrific. Could not have been more helpful or more sensitive to our special situation with special gifts son Luke. He even obtained a modest discount for us, in care of owners who seem very nice indeed. Others at Meridian were tops too, such as Sylvana. Many thanks again. Gregory and Eileen Orfalea

During my two year time in Santa Barbara, California I had the displeasure of being a tenant for the Meridian Group Real Estate Company. Unbeknownst to my fiancé and I, our storage container was authorized to be emptied of all our belongings and taken to the Santa Barbara dump. The reason for this was due to the disorganized set up of tenant parking spaces and assigned storage units by the Meridian Group. Instead of doing any sort of investigation the Meridian group took it upon themselves to simply break the lock on our storage unit and discard of all belongs my fiancé and I had collected over the years. They wrote us a check for the items but that does not excuse the complete incompetence of operations and disrespect shown to our belongings

Working with Scott at Elm Tree apartments was a delight. I had been struggling to find my own place for 3 years. He was very responsive, friendly & professional. He worked through a somewhat difficult process to help me get my place. I'm so happy here. Very quiet & peaceful. I think I'm going to love living here. I highly recommend Meridian Group if you're looking for a place to live.

One of the better management companies to rent from in Santa Barbara. Our property manager Emma is friendly and responsive, and most maintenance issues are resolved relatively quickly.
