Most recently Desiree helped me purchase property and it was a real process with the seller. I am so grateful for her outside the box thinking and staying with it. Also, I have had the pleasure of working with Jim and Nick in the past and they both are great and would definitely use them again. That is only three of Alex’s staff from there. The company name is a misnomer. Just don’t. There was nothing excellent about my experience with them. I was being gouged at every turn and they were happy to lie for the property owner. Alex had no concern about his staff being rude and unprofessional. Kayla ignored my three texts over a 10-day period about my security deposit return, nearly two weeks after my move. Brittany was belligerent and downright combative when I was forced to come in person about it. I always took care of the place and paid rent. I left it sparkling after paying a big price for a move-out clean. Naturally, I was concerned about the ghosting around the return of my $2600. Had they simply replied that they intended to try to make a claim, it could have been cleared up soon enough. Still, even though I was very plain about NOT having put the contact paper on shelving which the owners were supposedly going to pay to have removed, she essentially called me liar; barked that they had 30 days to claim and they were going to take them. I am certain the owners of this 1960s property, 2200 Tuttle Terrace, did not care one whit about the fresh-looking paper in place which also served a purpose as it was easy to clean. Owners who didn’t care about a wild unintended tree that was over growing the front entrance, weren’t about to be fussy about nice lining in the old cabinets. They just wanted to continue gouging me by keeping my deposit. Brittany said they had pre-move-in pictures to send me. When I said, good and be sure they are dated, they were suddenly able to run the check right out to me because their 15 days was practically up on this Friday. Shucks, they didn’t know I hadn’t put it down. So what? I got my deposit, right? (Alex’ attitude) Meanwhile, I was lied to about the move, and more. As a 70-year-old woman in place just two years and nowhere near ready to go through the grief and expense of a household move again, I was told the owner was going to be renovating, so they would not be renewing my lease. Sure they don’t have to renew me. But I took them at their word. And so also believed when they extended by 3 weeks at my request (a “favor” per this company - though I knew no one else was coming in right away and of course paid rent for the time; it was just the available date for the place I wanted to go into), they charged me an additional $400 for a supposed penalty they would be billed by the termite company for rescheduling treatment. That wasn’t enough but when I got my invoice for rent that month it was prorated for 28 days, though they new I’d be out on the 25th. At $87 per day, it made a difference to me, so I had them adjust it. Right away the house was on the market for rent. No termite treatment. No renovating. They forced this old lady out for, I dunno, some kind of spite. No one recommended they maybe give me a chance to respond to any beef they could possibly have had. I was not unpleasant (tho the owner scoffed and rolled his eyes when I mentioned the volunteer tree in person), but only made reasonable requests. Because I brought up the weed tree a third time over a year period as it continued to creep in front of the entry and would be a bigger problem for them later? Because I wanted a working dishwasher? I’ll never know. Owners had not furnished a washer /dryer so I had to buy a set and then practically give them away when I left because, of course, most every landlord furnishes those. I offered them a bargain for the pair, but naturally, they still didn’t want to furnish a w/d. This company also doesn’t take the trouble to learn the properties they “manage.” They did not notify me it would be Pluris and not city water. I found it out the hard way. I was to change out the air filter but they had no idea where it was and showed me the wrong area. I rented sight unseen during the red hot market of 2021. They would not tour me through the house in the weeks before my move, though we all know a landlord has the right to access with a mere 24-hr notice. They told me it was because there was an unhappy tenant there. Big surprise!
