This was a great afternoon. Even though I was the only person who reserved a trip for the 4:00 block, Captain Will agreed to take me out on his awesome zodiac boat, Wish You Were Here. It was windy, cold, and choppy, and we didn’t see a damn thing but the beautiful ocean; but the boat was safe and comfortable, and Captain Will was a knowledgeable and friendly guide. Would 100% recommend—but do yourself a favor a go out earlier in the day to increase your chances of spotting dolphins and whales. Thanks for a great trip, Captain Will…Hope to see you again out there on the avenue.

A priceless 3/4 day on the water with Will, Dylan & 3 of my grandsons. A fantastic value!
We were hoping to catch yellowtail, and we did. Dylan hooked a beautiful marlin that sprang itself free after a magnificent leap into the air, shadowed a pair of enormous Blue Whales and caught a bunch of Calico Bass. Will is a true naturalist and experienced mariner who freely shares his knowledge of the marine environment. He even filleted our fish and taught us how to slice it for the BEST sashimi. Top that with several very close encounters with hundreds of dolphins and you’ll understand why I rate this experience as SIMPLY PERFECT.

I don't really know where to start, this was such an amazing experience for my wife and I. She especially loves seeing dolphins so close. It seems like we saw hundreds. They were swimming all around in front of the boat and jumping and putting on a show for us. We got to see a gray whale up close and for a long time. It was truly an inspiring experience. William's boat was very comfortable. The inflatable gunwales allowed you to lean on them as opposed to having a rigid aluminum or fiberglass structure trying to get up close to the dolphins. My wife was so happy she cried 🙂 William is amazing Captain is very accommodating. Another great thing about William is that he is the owner and entrepreneur. There were some other tour boats but they were packed full of people and the boats did not look as comfortable as his. I was really impressed that William and the other captains helped each other out. William was telling everyone on the radio where to find the whale, and they were telling him where the dolphins were currently at. We will have to come back another time and bring our kids. 10 out of 10 would absolutely recommend!

We had a fantastic whale watch adventure with Will and our naturalist for the day, Sterling. Will was extremely friendly and easygoing. He emphasized safety and always made sure we were enjoying ourselves. He was really responsive during the booking process as well. Sterling provided amazing knowledge of all the ocean life we were seeing which added so much to the trip. We would 100 percent recommend and look forward to booking another trip in the future.

I don’t think you could get a better experience than this if you are looking to see whales/dolphins in Dana Point! This is our second trip with William and we are already planning our next. It has been a great way to show friends and family the awesome ocean life in abundance!

Captain William is absolutely great! He knows the place where we can catch sight of marine life and take amazing photos. We were lucky to spot at least two types of dolphins in a such close distance that I feel I can almost touch it. The grey whale was a little “shy” that day but we did get the picture of its back. Captain William also helped took many good pictures of us so we can keep the memorable moments. Highly recommend!!!

9-3-2024 We had a great 2h boat trip with Captain Will. We saw tons of dolphins, multiple pods of varying sizes. The larger ones were probably in the hundreds. Various birds (pelicans, gulls, etc.) joined the dolphins hunting schools of fish. The time (9:30-11:30am), was very nice: marine layer first with very little wind. About an hour into the tour the sun came out. We also saw a couple big Mola mola (ocean sunfish). Unfortunately, no whales this time. Captain will was friendly, helpful and tried to show us as much as possible.

Absolutely amazing and highly recommend. Just me and my nine-year-old son who very much wanted to go fishing, which I did not want to do! Will took care of all of that and my son had a great time. For me, I got to see sea lions up close, dolphins an arms length away, and a grand finale of a humpback whale right in front of our boat. Absolutely fantastic!
