My husband and I are in a unique situation in that we only needed an apartment for super short term (2 months) and the Ridge Apartments is pretty much the only community in the area you can get a lease that short.
We just recently moved in and the service we have received has been outstanding. Sierra is a true gem. She has been so incredibly kind and helpful and this community is lucky to have her. We're happy to call The Ridge Apartments home for the next couple of months ?

Nice apartments and a good place to live overall, but if you need to contact the leasing office for any reason, good luck to you. I’ve tried to call them 6-7 times in the 6 months I’ve been there for various reasons, and have only gotten a real person once after nearly 30 minutes of fighting with the automated system. The people in the leasing office are less than helpful too, I tried to email regarding a “rent plus” being added to my rent, and a month went by with 0 action on their part before I followed up. Then, the response to my follow up is along the lines of “yeah I dunno they didn’t respond maybe call them”

Honestly, this has been the best apartment with the least amount of issues of any rental property I've lived in. The front office staff are polite and friendly. I know other people have complained in the past but I have not had that experience. Our apartment has been great for our family. Any issues we've had have been resolved quickly. The maintenance staff is also very friendly and considerate when they come in. It has been expensive, but the quality of life from living here has made up for it.

Property, Office Staff, & Fees

Misleading Property Rating :
- for relevant reviews, sort by “Newest” to get the applicable reviews for the current owner.
- The new Owner, who has only owned the property for the past year or so, is misleading the rating by including reviews from the previous owner.
- previous: “Springs at Castle Rock” (all of the previous staff was fired)
- current: “Ridge at Castle Rock" (all new people)
- eight 1-star reviews in the past 6 months, with four of those 1-star reviews being in the past two weeks (including mine)
- Maggie from the generic replies to the reviews is an AI chatbot

Review:
- It all started when I renewed my lease from the previous owner to the new/current owner 6 months ago.
- the Property shamelessly added additional fees without any info or justification as to why and will overcharge on utilities, sometimes double
- when you put in a “ticket” through the portal to communicate this error, there is no trace
- You will go into the office to do face to face
- the Community Manager J L., will be rude and act like you are a complete bother, despite it being their error. They will gaslight you and say that they are working on it.
- they will then assign the issue to Central Services Administrator D G., who doesn’t even work at the office and they are roughly unreachable
- when you kindly ask for a status update, they will blatantly ignore you for months. The Property will keep charging more and more fees
- when you try and email the Community Manager J L., they will blatantly ignore your emails for months.
- when you try and go into the office, they will have no clue what you are talking about (Ive keep ALL of the “receipts”, and recommend you do the same if you are a current resident – document EVERYTHING in traceable forms like email)
- you try and include the Regional Manager G*** P., who will also blatantly ignore you emails and calls for months
- At this point, the following people have been on the email chain for months,

- Central Services Administrator D G.
- Leasing Consultant S* I.

- When your emails and calls are ignored, you go into the office again (at this point it seems like every week) to see if that will get some movement, all the while trying to be calm and cool and empathetic that sometimes things happen.
- upon arrival the Leasing Consultant S* I. will being extremely rude (as many reviews stated before), will roll their eyes, and also gaslight you about the situation, saying that I must be mistaken.
- Then, the Community Manager J L. will bring you into the office and lie to your face and tell you that it is being resolved.
- When you are asking for help, they will talk over you, cut you off, and not respect your feelings
- After being patient, the fees keep happening.
- then they will harass you with texts from Maggie, the AI chatbot.
- When all else fails, you call the corporate business office and leave a voicemail message about the situation, record it, and send it as an attachment to the email chain.
- They will then gaslight you even more and say that someone is working on it
- they will also gaslight you into thinking that your account is the only one impacted (which thankfully for google reviews, this too is a lie, which is somewhat of a relief that I am not the only one, and that sucks to everyone else)

Summary:
- This ridiculous nightmare this property put me through has been going on for 6 months, and the team could care less. At this point, the situation is still ongoing.

Overall:
- The office staff is rude, will lie to you, gaslight you, overcharge you, disrespect you, blatantly ignore you, talk over you, don’t know (or don’t care) how to do their jobs and worst of all…make you feel unwelcome and a stranger in your own home.

This ownership group (MG out of San Diego, California) is currently in litigation in a class action case based in Denver so beware of bogus charges upon move out. A quick Google search tells you everything you need to know.

Moved out and tried to charge me for something we discussed in the pre-inspection and also the final statement was incorrect and tried to charge me to re-paint and re-carpet the apartment. This is not normal, this is predatory behavior. The manager sat in her office and told us that they dont even make the paint anymore so we wouldn't be charged for that or the carpet. Update: Manager called and said we would only be charged for utilities and cleaning.

We never put anything on the walls, apartment was basically in excellent condition for a 5 year old apartment when we left and they charged us for this which tells you all you need to know about the way they do business.

We were told they would be a cleaning fee of $150 and had to be done that way even though it did not state this in the lease. When we moved in, the apartment had to be re-cleaned by us. The previous ownership gave us a credit for doing that.

Management: Julie is very nice but you have to stay in touch to get answers.

Internet: Says it's Fiber, it's not. Filed multiple complaints with BBB, Attorney General of Colorado, etc and nothing ever happened. Management even said they are in a profit sharing deal with the internet company so it's the only one you can choose from. Ownership does not care to follow up or correct. The routers are old and in closet walls which makes it hard to get coverage across your apartments. Be prepared to get Google Home or something.

Community: Nice and peaceful, people are nice.

Pool: Never really used but looked nice and clean.

Gym: Super Small and lacks equipment for full workout.

Snow Removal: Lacking & not timely. Be prepared to dig yourself out before going to work.

Traffic in Community: LOTS of speeders. Speed bumps are needed before some kid playing in the street gets hit and killed.

Maintenance Team: Very nice and helpful but pay close attention to them on pre-inspection move out charges.

Trash Pickup: Spotty but a nice feature to have.

Utilities: Gas for Water Heater, Electric for rest. Cheaper than other apartments in town I think.

Fees: They FEE you to DEATH! Fees on top of fees, get a list of all fees before you move here, They add up.

Castle Rock is a great place, easy to get around and do errands but be careful of renting from corporate private equity owned apartments like these is my best advice.

Went from living in a 20 year old townhome to this “newer” apartment. At the time of move in I thought it was a big upgrade. Nicer appliances, finishes, ect. Have had nothing but horrible issues with spiders and bugs. Spent money of my own to try and fix the issue. Had maintenance come out to try and fix the issue (no change after maintenance “fixed it”) it’s now been 2 and a half months of living at the ridge. Woke up this morning with spider bites all over my ankle. Feel so disgusted by this apartment I’m going to have to go stay in a hotel tonight. I figured with a new born baby on the way living in a place as new as the ridge would be best. Unfortunately should’ve stayed where I was. To pay $30,000 a year to live somewhere where you have to go stay in hotels due to the un habitable conditions of the apartment I’m renting makes me sick to my stomach. If I could give a 0 star review I would. Do not recommend anyone to live here.

I truly recommend this complex! I’ve lived here for 2 years and always felt safe. It’s a peaceful , very clean, very well maintained apartment complex . It’s close to restaurants and shopping and the staff is wonderful to interact with . I loved it here, but need to be back on the east coast , that’s why I moved . But this is a great place to live!!
