I am a designer and draftsman working in the High Desert (29 Palms, Yucca Valley and the unincorporated Joshua Tree area) for going on 40 years. I also have done a lot of work in Orange and LA counties as well. Over time I have seen a lot of changes in the building process. One of which is an abandonment of common sense and working together to achieve the goal to get a building permit for those trying to do so . Not so in Twentynine Palms. My experience with the 29 Palms Building and Safety and Planning, in regards to common sense and a spirit of helpfulness vs. antagonism has been exceptional. This way of operating ultimately reduces the cost of building, remodeling and additions for my clients. I wish to express my sincere appreciation in particular to Paul Osterman and Dianne Olson. Twentynine Palms is, hands down, my number one favorite place to do business in all of Southern California.

All the workers behave like ghetto drug addicts on the phone who are mad you’re interrupting their social media scrolling during work hours.

Lived here since 2018. Just atrocious and lazy conduct. From the water to code. Don’t bother asking them for help. The class and customer service isn’t there. Very ghetto

City Council is useless and is apart of the problem this town is having. They used a PUBLIC HOUSING loan for a community center and the CORNERS of sidewalks. Not whole blocks of sidewalks but only the corners of them fixing nothing at all. The city council knows of its housing shortage and unlike Palm Springs and take action rather sit on their hands and profit from their "vacation industry" buddies even though they have been gatekeeping Twentynine Palms' growth for YEARS! Almost as useless as the politicians in Washington.

Was open , with all the services covered. Employees wearing face covers. Also posted at the entrance the requirements of wearing mask and respect the social distancing inside of the facility. Employee very respectful , quick and knowledgeable

They keep closing early when it's slow I'm guessing but that's wrong some people can't go till later on once the sun sets due to work at times get workers that stay the full shifts
