Just moved in 9/17/24. Matthew and Kerri have been more than helpful, very informative and patient. It has felt like home from the moment called and especially when I came to view the unit. Price is competitive for the area and amenities are definitely a plus. Parking is convenient and safe and mail is as well. If your looking for a comfortable, convenient, safe location, this is it! And they are pet friendly!!

The apartment you receive will have multiple problems and you will need to make a note of everything in detail for them to believe it. You will then have to raise tickets to have all of those things fixed. The maintenance staff is not knowledgeable and you would need to follow up and have them come over multiple times to fix 1 issue. You would receive emails multiple times a month saying that hot water would be off. The packages are received at the main office and you will need to collect them during office hours I.E. if your package gets delivered Saturday afternoon it either wont be received or you won’t be able to collect it until Monday 10am until office opens. The location is excellent and close to airport, BART station and all important major stores.

EDIT - I received a bill of $2400 today as settlement charges which is outrageous. I only lived in the apartment for 3 months and moved out and cleaned the apartment before moving out. They have charged me with cleaning charges, carpet cleaning charges and crazy utility bills of $300 for 15 days. ( used to be $150 for the whole month when I lived there).
Save yourself and do not live here! Attaching photos of the clean apartment for you to see the condition I left it in. Seriously shady people at Greystar.

I'm not someone who usually leaves bad reviews due to a busy schedule, but Acapella Apartments truly deserves feedback. I’ve historically had positive experiences with Greystar properties, so I’m genuinely shocked at how my experience here turned out.

Throughout my lease, I faced numerous issues that I consistently and politely reported. I prefer a passive approach to resolving problems because I understand that I’m not the only tenant in the building. However, Acapella Apartments’ staff made the experience increasingly uncomfortable and unsatisfactory.

The management team has been inflexible and uncooperative, not only withholding a portion of my security deposit but also demanding additional payments after my move-out. Despite the issues we endured—persistent bug problems, poor lighting, and a hot tub that was frequently out of service, even during the summer—there was little support or accountability from the office.

The poor quality of service were disappointing. I can’t recommend this property, and I urge future tenants to consider other options if they value consistent service and fair treatment.

I regret to say that our experience living in the Acapella building was far from satisfactory. My husband and I were in a hurry to find an apartment in the Bay Area and ended up settling for this one due to the competitive rental market.
Initially, the unit we wanted was already rented, so we chose another in the same building, thinking the location and amenities would compensate for not being able to view it beforehand. During our initial apartment tour, the representative merely handed us a map and didn’t take the time to show us araund. When we needed assistance while living there, we noticed a sign claiming they were conducting tours, which was misleading. It left us wondering what the leasing staff was actually doing.
. Upon moving in, we found the apartment dark and poorly lit, with inadequate natural light in the bedroom. We immediately inquired about switching to a different unit due to the poor lighting and cramped layout, but our request was denied.
To make matters worse, when we moved out, they kept our entire deposit, citing the need for cleaning and carpet replacement. It seems this is a common practice, as noted in other reviews.
Additionally, any inquiries about charges were met with vague explanations that felt more like gaslighting than transparency. Our dissatisfaction grew over the 15 months we lived there. We dealt with mosquitoes in the parking area and unpleasant odors that persisted throughout the summer. The balcony, which we were looking forward to using, became a source of frustration during the rainy winter months, emitting foul smells and attracting snails.
We were excited about the hot tub, but it was broken for most of our stay. The BBQ amenities were also frequently unavailable. We are glad that we lived at the first floor the elevator was having problems many times we know for the email that they sent often, The parking garage was consistently dirty, with only one trash can per floor leading to litter accumulation. On one occasion, we even encountered a raccoon in the garage. Despite other tenants sharing these concerns, management did nothing to address them.
Security was another major issue; I lost packages multiple times, and when I reported it to management, they dismissed my complaints, blaming the mail service, or they argue that probably the packages are in another building and that was not the case, they do not assume their own lack of oversight. Additionally, we experienced a disturbing noise in our bathroom one night, which left us feeling uncomfortable and unable to sleep. When we reported it, the staff was unhelpful they said that they do not found anything, we report that to the other day someone was able to fix it but we already could not sleep they do not even apologize for that they blame us because we say that the sound come from another place.
Our experience with the leasing office was disappointing. The staff lacked basic customer service skills, and we felt misled during the initial apartment tour. Upon moving out, they kept our entire deposit, We try to email them to negotiate and explanation about the fees, they did not reconsider that also we were explaining all the things that we were suffering since we lived there, they did not care.
If you're considering living here, I recommend looking elsewhere. We are relieved to have moved on and have since found a larger two-bedroom apartment for the same price we were paying at Acapella.
, you can see the answer for reviews here look friendly and with empathy but the reality is other because we tried to resolve this many times and the answer does not suggest any real solution just blaming the costumer, we are not the only one who complain about this building read the reviews.

Run. Apartments are extremely expensive, not safe, money grabbing SCAM. There r so many complaints I don't know where to start.
We rented the unit in a hurry before starting a new job. Moving from another state, without having time to shop around or visit, thinking only about job proximity. BIG MISTAKE.
Let's start with the disgusting smell of rotting PILES of trash (I mean MOUNTAINS thrown in from the whole complex) contaminating the garages that greets you every time you leave in the morning, have a guest visit or return from work. Such a treat. You have to go through the piles to reach the elevators. That smell will be a haunting daily reminder of your bad decision to rent there.
They also increase the monthly payments with "EXTRAS" not previously discussed in contract. So every month your bill will be a rising SURPRISE.
Mail packages sent to front desk disappear and the video of the day of the incident is not released. So you cant get a refund from Fedex either.
No accountability or feedback from management.
The apartment is delivered with damaged paint and holes in the wall patched in different colors the size of footballs. That is done on purpose so they can double collect from the renter who leaves and the renter that starts. It does not matter if you take pictures and videos and send them before you move in and after returning the apartment. Even so, they will charge you to repaint it after you leave. You won't see your security deposit back even with proof of the conditions you received the unit in.
They will charge you extra to CHANGE the carpet, NOT to clean it. Even if not necessary.
We hired professionals to clean the unit before we left. Even so, we got a cleaning bill from them.
They will send communications to your home address in another state. Not email on file (that had been the communication through all your dealings prior to your leaving).
They will block you out of the system so you don't have access to internal communications either, so take pictures of ALL and ANY communications you have with them on the portal so you have more proof of their wrongdoings.
You will also get a bill one year after you leave for the many little extras they can come up with.
You will see people walking totally naked head to toe on the complex and peeing on the bushes in broad daylight. They seem to be in proximity of a mental institution. So be careful with your kids.
You will step in dog poo inside the complex on a daily basis.
You will hear large dogs barking nonstop all day and night. You will have near death encounters with the beasts since there's no limit size for pets or aggressive breeds. So I suggest you increase your health insurance coverage if you decide to rent there.
The halls have carpet, so you can imagine the condition and smells leading to the units.
They own and built the roads around the complex. But they will lie to you if you need to park your moving container close to the apartment during your move by saying you need city permits. So you'll go through expensive permits just to have the city inspector and engineer come back to you with schematics showing you otherwise. In summary, they will try to make your life difficult every step of the way.
The neighborhood is also dangerous. So don't try walking around day or night. We were robbed twice. Aside from once also having a car with thugs racially scream insults and chase us in the street behind the unit. Total nightmare. You've been warned.

Extremely predatory, do not rent with Acappella or GreyStar.

When leaving they will arbitrarily charge you for damages, and won't notify you of them but rather just send the claim to a collections agency. You can dispute via the agency but that can take a while and hence impact your credit. They are willing to leverage your credit in order to charge you for exorbitant damages to renovate their apartment units. Do not rent here, rent anywhere else.

Good space and floor plan, price is high, they only offer 15 months lease. If you want 12 months it’s higher price. What turned us off was the not so polite attitude of the person in the leasing office (Asian origin) We felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome, decided to leave without finishing the so called tour.
