Brandon from code enforcement is a rude, lying, person with no regard for costumer service. He plainly harassed my family today, and got me my Mother and Father all upset. He called our things we use and our patio furniture junk and trash and that we had to get it out of here. He lied about our family having more than the legal limit of sheds in our backyard, saying we had 3 or 4 sheds back there. We only have one shed in our back yard and a couple easy ups for my family's florist business which we had to move to our house due to my disabled father. My father has been in and out of the hospital 8 times recently and almost died twice. When my Mom mentioned this fact about my unwell Father he just said we weren't moving fast enough and said we're just giving him excuses. My family's has lived here for over 20 years and never once had an issue to this magnitude, with the city or otherwise. Both of my parents are in their sixties and we have made a huge improvement to the front of our house. He said he sent a notice which we never received. Someone like that should not have that job. If he had a different attitude and was nicer to us I would not have to say this. Brandon of code enforcement for the city of Redding is a lying, antagonist and he has no business having a job like this. We had to call the cops on him then he said he was going to wait for the cops to show up. Then after we called the cops he left. This type of behavior and actions from a city government employee is just not right. He was very rude, confrontational, adversarial, and argumentive. This is a formal compliant directly to code enforcement. It's very sad to see people like this in a prestigious government office. There was no respect given.

UPDATE AS OF 11/18/22:

Since Seth Dressler has taken over as Code Enforcement Supervisor things are much, much better... He is helpful and amiable without compromising the requirements of Code. I have found it to me a great relief, and I'm now changing my rating in light of the positive change that he has made in the department.

MY POST PREVIOUS TO SETH DRESSLER'S LEADERSHIP AS CODE ENFORCEMENT SUPERVISOR:
I have been dealing with The City of Redding Code Enforcement because of a building I lost to fire behind my house. There are City of Redding Code Enforcement officials who are courteous and considerate, but there's one, Steve Willkcomm who is rude, careless, cavalier, and among other things shamefully arrogant. He is a bully who discards professionalism and becomes menacing when there are no third party witnesses.
The first time I tried to speak to him he would not let me express a complete thought before he raised his voice & during that encounter he told me that I was lying and informed me of what he thought were my true intentions. He showed up at my place of business and ridiculed me to my employee & the customers in my store and later that day he showed up more than an hour late to an appointment he had made with me during which he continued to blame me for the consequences of others actions & hold me responsible for things over which I had little control. Promising to write a $5,000 ticket every day he told me I wasn't working fast enough as I was working. I told him I am 64 years old & not able to work as quickly and consistently as I did when younger. He was in my personal space as he threw his arms out wide & laughed, "Why should I care?" I was afraid. I told him not to touch me. He cheerfully stepped behind me & brushed up against me. I am accustomed to being treated fairly and afforded a modicum of dignity. The City of Redding shames itself by allowing Steve Willkomm to represent it.
